It had been years, since Kyomi last stepped inside of her old high school after relocating to Florida. She loved Florida but their entire life was here in Atlanta, and some how with the recent hurricane it was easier to convince her mom to pack up and move back. Luckily, their grandmother had a two bedrooom guest suite, they could stay in until her mom found them a brand new home. It wasn't the fact that she couldn't afford it, because the registered nurse checks were beyond great. The main factor of why they didn't have a house was due to the last minute move. It hadn't even been a week since they decided they'd be on their way back to Atlanta. She walked down the halls dressed in the brown Soot set from Skims and on her feet were cream New Balance 9060s. Her wrist were covered in arm candy starting with the Louis Vuitton Historic Mini Monogram bracelet. It didn't take her long to make it to the front office where she was due to retrieve her schedule. The principal had allowed her in fifteen minutes before school started to get her schedule, so she'd make it to class on time.
So much had changed in the building so it would take her a minute to find it. And being the center of attention just wasn't her thing, so she'd rather already be seated in the back. On the drive here she contemplated on telling her friends she was back, but she'd just let it be a surprise. "Good morning, you must be Kyomi Reid? She was greeted by the older lady sitting at the reception desk.
"Yes ma'am I'm supposed to be meeting the principal and getting my schedule." She replied, signing in on the office visitors log, that was made for students. "Yes, he actually had an emergency and asked me to hand it to you. Here's your schedule majority of your classes are on the first floor, if you need anything I'm here everyday until two o'clock." The lady announced handing her the white folder, which she assumed carried more than just a schedule because it was more on the thicker side.
When she left out she pulled the schedule out seeing her first class was only down the hall. She made it there, met her teacher and got comfortable with still a few minutes to spare, opening the folder she read what was inside. Senior fees, activities, her schedule and then a FASFA form. She was scheduled to graduate in May, it was currently January and school was pretty much over with.
"Good morning, I'm Ms.Greene you must be new here?" Questioned the brown skin women who stood at the white board, writing the agenda for the day. "Good morning, not necessarily I went here two years ago I had moved away though."
"Welcome back! The students normally come in right before the bell ring, you can pick your own seat it's no assigned ones. We pretty much just be doing college stuff since the school year ending soon." With school ending in five months it was crunch time for students and teachers. Everything was focused on or around college at that moment, college tours, college applications, and of course decision day.
