Both you and Yuri parted ways; she headed home, and you went to stop at the bakery. Surprisingly, she had been silent the rest of the walk. You couldn't shake the feeling that something wrong happened; she seemed to never run out of things to talk about. It was strange she was quiet after she had found out about you wanting to attend U.A.; usually she'd be more positive and encouraging.
Your tired eyes drooped as the walk to U.A. became increasingly draining.
'Five more minutes...'
The crowded walkways of Musutafu made your head spin from people pressing in around; you felt suffocating, the noise blurring into a loud hum. Feeling disgusted, you slouched. The sun was shining down on your eyes, causing you to squint. The blazing heat caused a drop of sweat to roll down your forehead. The air tickling your dry throat made your breathing heavier with every step you took.
Your tender feet made clicking noises each time you glided the sleek bottoms of your shoes along the smooth pavement. You could see U.A. in the distance; the building towered over the trees and brushed against the clouds. It reflected the shining sunlight off of the glistening, tidy glass windows. It cast down a vast shadow, overlapping with Musutafu's various buildings. Students could also be seen stepping through the royal blue arched gateway with their school logo plastered across it, nervously awaiting the start of their afternoon entrance exam.
Hardly able to wait five more minutes, you spotted a bus stop a couple feet from you and took the seat next to an elderly woman. Throwing your head back and slumping down into the seat, you felt relief overcome your twitching leg muscles. The metal seat felt cool against your skin and sent a shiver throughout your body. Your eyes slowly shut as you succumbed to a dreamless sleep.
What you assumed was a quick doze was actually a somber twenty-minute power nap. You were still asleep until a soft, moist sensation on your skin stirred you awake from your short rest. Eyes blinking open, you looked down and quickly took notice of a small, fluffy dog with a gorgeous brown coat sloppily lapping at your bare legs under your school attire. Your eyebrows were raised in an amusing manner as you stared at the dog. Chuckling, you leaned down to playfully ruffle the pup's hair.
You looked at the time after quickly pulling out your phone. Your eyes popped out of your skull from what you saw. There were barely seven minutes left until everybody had to be seated. Knowing U.A., it will be crowded, making it much more difficult to find your spot. Which seats were available? Was it first come, first served, or was it determined by surname?
Many things rushed through your head, but for the first time in several weeks, you sprang up and began sprinting. The poor lady next to you seemed taken aback, but you didn't have time to concern yourself, not that you'd care regardless. Any hair that had been concealing your face as you slept had been blown back by the wind's force. Your hair was surely messy now, if it hadn't been previously.
While running, you didn't have time to focus on the burning in your calves or the heavy pumping of your heart. The only thoughts running through your head were getting there in time and wondering, 'Why do I do this to myself' repeatedly.
You raced past several assortments of people, some of whom turned to look at you. Most others, including you, were too engrossed to be impacted. You didn't realize you had drawn the attention of a man with black hair and deep, vivid burn scars who was observing you race past him.
The speed you were going at kept accelerating until you bumped shoulders with another future acquaintance, a particularly energetic and electric boy. His eyes widened after catching a glance of your furrowed brows and puffed cheeks; to him, you looked cute.
You didn't even notice him and kept running until you made your way through the entrance of the gigantic hero school. After finally stopping, you looked around until you spotted a visibly flustered Midoriya. You instantly felt better after seeing someone you recognized. You felt a bit queasy; luckily, after only encountering Midoriya that day, his familiar characteristics made you comfortable. Maybe it was his kind and misunderstood personality. With a sharp inhale of breath, you prepared yourself for what was going to come next.
