"Where is he?" Jihoon stormed across the dance floor before coming to a halt in front of me. He was vibrating with fury, his limbs tense. "I know he's here, Seungcheol. He can't run from me forever."
"He's not here," I said flatly, folding my arms across my chest as everyone else filed down the stairs behind me. For fuck's sake, all I wanted to do was take Jeonghan home, tie him up, and make him beg for me all over again. But no. There was always drama to deal with. "I don't know where he's gone."
"Bullshit," Jihoon spat. "I'm having this out with him once and for all. He thinks that if he can avoid me for long enough, this will all just go away. But he's wrong. I'm not letting him walk away, not this time."
"He's not here. And if you're going to throw a tantrum about it, you need to leave." I felt my brothers join me, Joshua on my left and Vernon on my right. Deep down, I sympathised with Jihoon. If Jeonghan was acting like Soonyoung, I'd probably be tearing my hair out in frustration. But Soonyoung was my brother at the end of the day, so my loyalty lay with him.
Even if he was being a douche.
"I can feel him," Jihoon said, thumping his chest. "I know he's here."
I exchanged a confused look with Vernon. "What do you mean?"
Jihoon flashed his teeth. "Don't pretend you don't kn—"
His voice cut off abruptly, his gaze shooting over my shoulder. He stumbled back a step, all colour leaving his face as he shook his head. "No, it's not possible."
I twisted, following his gaze to see what had caused his reaction. He was staring at Myungho. The kid was frozen on the final step, his hand hovering over the banister as he stared at Jihoon.
"But..." Jihoon stepped forwards, confusion and disbelief on his face. "But...how?"
"Any idea what's happening right now?" Jeonghan whispered to me under his breath.
"Not a fucking clue," I muttered.
We all watched as Jihoon crossed the space to stand in front of Myungho. Because he was still on the bottom step, they were of equal height.
There was a tense silence as they stared at one another, both pale as ghosts. I was about to intervene, but Vernon stopped me with a hand on his arm. He shook his head sharply, his mouth in a grim line.
"Hello," Jihoon finally said. His affable charm slid over him as he extended his hand for Myungho to shake. "My name's Jihoon. Who are you?"
"Myungho." He eyed Jihoon's hand nervously before taking it and shaking it once.
There was an audible gasp from Jihoon as they touched, sending him skittering backwards several feet. He gulped, pushing his long hair away from his face before releasing a barking laugh.
"Has he gone mad?" Jeonghan murmured.
"He's in love with Soonyoung, so it'd explain a lot," Joshua threw in quietly.
"I can't believe it," Jihoon said, still laughing. "I can't fucking believe it."
Myungho looked more unnerved than ever, shuffling on the step like he was considering fleeing upstairs. "Umm...what's happening?"
His voice stopped Jihoon's laughter, flipping his mood in an instant. All business, he walked back to Myungho and raised his hand to his lips. I started forward as he kissed it, not sure if Myungho would be okay with that. Before I could get close, Jihoon had pulled back several feet, shooting his trademark lazy grin in Myungho's direction.
"You have no idea how great it is to meet you," Jihoon said to Myungho, his voice shaking slightly. "I'll be seeing you again real soon."
Myungho flushed scarlet, looking at me in confusion. I shrugged. I didn't have any more idea what was happening than he did.
