Mohan Das lived on the outskirts of Delhi, in a modest home surrounded by lush gardens filled with herbs and flowers. The air was fragrant with their scent, soothing my racing thoughts.

When Aisha and I arrived, Mohan was sitting cross-legged on his porch, an array of books spread out before him. His long beard and wise eyes suggested he was a man accustomed to the weight of knowledge.

"Mohan Das?" I asked, approaching cautiously.

He looked up and nodded, a smile lighting his face. "Ah, the seeker of truth and her companion. What brings you to my humble abode?"

"A need for knowledge," I said, my heart racing. "We're investigating the curse of Narbali and need to understand it better."

At the mention of the curse, his demeanor shifted. The smile faded, and a seriousness settled over him. "That is not a subject to be taken lightly. Many have lost their way in its shadow."

I nodded. "We understand. But I believe there's a connection between Druvan's death and his mother's past."

Mohan gestured for us to sit. "Very well. The curse seeks a vessel, a conduit for its power. You must learn to harness it."

"What do you mean?" Aisha asked, her brow furrowing.

"Your bloodline is intertwined with that of Druvan Dutta," Mohan explained. "His mother's dark magic sought to bind her lineage to the curse, and now, Vaidehi, you may hold that link."

Aisha exchanged a worried glance with me, her protective instincts flaring. "Is there a way to break this curse without bloodshed?"

"There are ways, but they require immense focus and intent. You will have to confront the dark force directly," he replied, his voice somber.

"How do we do that?" I asked, my voice steady.

Mohan pointed toward a distant temple, shrouded in mist. "There lies an ancient library filled with the knowledge you seek. Only those with true intent may enter."

"Then let's go," I said, determination solidifying in my chest.
