╚══════════.✵.═╝It's always so annoying having to practice on Saturdays. Saturdays are for resting, chilling, just 'you-ing', right? But my coach says, "The more rest, the lazier you get." Isn't resting very necessary? Especially for those involved in sports.
"Hustle up on the field!" I groaned, and dragged myself to the field along with my teammates.
"Goooo, West Chasers!" The cheerleaders also practice on Saturdays, so Megan was present. She's alone today since her girls aren't on the team.
"No, wrong! Cut!" The cheerleading captain, Alexa Bliss, scolded her teammates. "We have to do it right girls, the big game is on Friday. We need to beat Crestwood High's cheerleaders. So come on! And a one.. and a two.....and a one, two, three, four!"
They all started dancing with their pompoms, but Megan didn't look happy at all. She hates being bossed around, but she loves doing it to others. Karma's a real bitch, so.
I redirected my focus to the practice I'm currently at and watch our coach give us a hard pep talk. He visualized the game-winning touchdown, his mind focused on success.
The smell of freshly cut grass and sweat hung over the field. The sun beat down on the practice field, the air thick with heat. The teams' energy was palpable their camaraderie and focus evident.

Coach Thompson's whistle made everyone's ears bleed, nonetheless we hustled up on the field and started playing. I mentally rehearsed my assignments, anticipating the opponents' moves. The ball was kicked at my direction and I secured it like an egg, dribbling every player that came my way. I ran through a series of shuttle runs, building up my speed and agility.
"Pass the ball!" Perry, a teammate, ordered since he was close to me. I just had a feeling that I could score a goal in the opponents' net. So, I ignored Perry and kept striding towards the opponents' net.
"Bro, the ball!" Tyler, another teammate of mine in SS2, waved his hand in the air, implying that he's open. I ignored him too, since I was already close to winning.
"You need to work harder! Stop being dumb."
I cleared Mrs Toyosin's words from my head and tried to keep my head in the game. Coach Thompson watched intently as I perfected my tackling technique. I believe my determination is inspiring the team.
"You're in final year, buckle up."
I received a sharp headache, causing me to trip over the ball and land on my ass.
"One more fail, and I'm sending a note to your mother."
"Bro, what are you doing?" I heard some of my teammates question me.
"He ruined the whole game."
I sneered at them and Tyler helped me up on my feet. "Are you okay mehn?" I nodded slightly at his question and he helped my dust my body.
"What the heck was that, Ivan?" Coach Thompson thundered, storming towards me. "How many times do I have to remind you to keep your head in the fucking game?"
"I'm sorry coach, I'll-"
"Save it young man!" He cut me off. "You had just one job, one freaking job- to pass the ball. Instead, you ignored all your teammates and did what I don't even understand. Do you think this game is a joke?"
