It is the beginning of August, signifying that we are halfway through summer.
Throughout the period of the long month without Harry, the three of us (Hermione, Ron, and I) were introduced to Grimmauld place, Sirius' old home. It's quite dark, and there's a horribly annoying house elf and a screaming portrait that only screams at Hermione, calling her a 'mudblood', which is weird, because I did think that I was one to until a month ago.
I've met some lovely people, Tonks being always very funny with her Metamorphmagus trait, turning into a duck whenever she calls me down to have lessons with Remus.
George and Fred have been taking advantage of themselves going into their last year, thus meaning they can officially use magic outside of school. It contributes to the dimwittedness of their jokes.
I share a room with Hermione and Gin and Tonic, us playing truth or dare every night.
"Hmm, Hermione!" Ginny says, the three of us sitting on Hermione's bed, she got the biggest in the room. We're covered in blankets and sweets, Enzo and Crookshanks playing with each other by the windowsill.
Hermione looks up from her makeup bag. When we visited London for a two day trip, I brought her to the closest Boots and shoved blush and mascara into her cart. There was a sale, of course I had to! Hermione puts the mascara wand down, placing it in it's designated bottle. "Yeah?"
"Truth or dare!" Ginny asks, beckoning us to huddle closer together.
Hermione looks up, sticking out her tongue in thought. I reach for an Acid Pop in the bag beside Ginny. "Truth!"
Ginny claps her hands and looks at me, eyes asking me to ask the question. I laugh slightly, sucking on the lollie. "Okay, Mi'." I think for a second before looking back at her. "Viktor Krum or Ronald Weasley?"
Red appears on her face. She stammers. "Uh, uh in terms of w-what?"
I make a sour face at the Acid Pop in my mouth fizzing before answering. "You know what," I smirk, Ginny looking at me with her mouth agape.
"That's my brother!"
"Oi," I say pushing her lightly. "Don't matter, I mean, you could have Mimi as a sister in law for Merlin's sake! Plus, I'm a total match maker, and I see something between her and your fellow brother."
Ginny makes a disgusted face, nodding at Hermione to answer. A weak smile appears on Hermione's face. "I'm not answering!" She blurts out, drawing one of the many blankets to her chest.
"Ugh,"
"Booo!"
Ginny and I groan, Hermione blushing slightly. "Hey, (Y/N)," she shoots at me. I perk up at her voice, nodding. "Truth or dare?"
I smile smugly, looking at my beat up nails. "Dare!" I answer, looking at the both of them.
Ginny and Hermione exchange mischievous glances, clearly plotting. Ginny leans in, her eyes glinting with excitement. "All right, (Y/N), I dare you to... go downstairs, sneak into the kitchen, and bring us back three Butterbeers without getting caught!"
Hermione lets out a giggle, covering her mouth. "And Kreacher is down there, so good luck dealing with him if he spots you!"
I roll my eyes, trying to look unbothered. "Oh, please," I scoff, standing up from the bed and tossing the blankets aside. "I'll be back in no time. You lot better appreciate this!"
Ginny salutes me, laughing, "You're a hero, (Y/N)."
As I tiptoe out of the room and into the dimly lit hallway, I pass by a few ancestral portraits whose subjects grumble softly in their sleep. The house creaks as I head downstairs, and I move slowly and discreetly, careful not to wake Sirius' mum's portrait. Or worse, get caught by Mrs. Weasley, who would probably go on about me being "too young" for Butterbeer.
