I laid across my bed, feeling like I was about to die of pure boredom. It was Lauren and Landons birthday today. Lauren was off living her best life at some spa retreat, and Landon was out shopping with Beyoncé for his new gaming setup. She had offered to help him set it all up, get food, drinks, and everything. And me? Here. Alone. Stuck in my room with nothing but my sad little playlist and the ceiling fan spinning slowly above me. This was not the vibe I signed up for.
I couldn't take it anymore. I grabbed my phone, opened up FaceTime, and hit Beyoncé's name. The phone rang a few times, and finally, her face popped up on the screen, looking all cute and casual, standing in some aisle with a basket in her hand. That smile? It could light up my whole day. But I wasn't about to let her know that... yet.
"Hey, baby," she said, smirking like she knew I'd be calling her up sooner or later.
"Bey," I sighed dramatically, putting on my best sad face. "I'm bored, and I miss you."
She laughed, shaking her head. " Girl, You just saw me yesterday. You actin' like I left for a month."
"Exactly, I haven't seen you at all today," I pouted, lying back and letting out the deepest, most tragic sigh I could. "I'm at home all alone while you're off playing house with my brother."
She snickered, rolling her eyes. " I told him I'd help him put his setup together. It's his birthday, Nic. Let him have this ."
I groaned, rolling over on my side to face the screen. "Yeah, yeah, I know. But I miss you. And it's so boring here without you, Bey."
Beyoncé tilted her head, giving me that amused look. "Nic, you're somethin' else, you know that? I miss you too, but I can't ditch Landon on his birthday. He'd kill me if I ran off to see you instead."
"Fine, fine, I get it." I huffed, letting out another deep sigh. "But I'm starving, can you bring me some food please."
"Oh, so now you're starving too?" she teased, laughing. "What do you want, mamas?"
"I don't know, surprise me," I said.
She chuckled, nodding. "Okay, don't worry, I got you"
I broke into a smile, feeling just a little bit better already. "Thank you, baby. And maybe I'll forgive you for leaving me here."
Beyoncé rolled her eyes but smiled. "Yeah, yeah. You'll be fine. Now go find something to do, Nic, and I'll see you soon."

I was sprawled out on my bed, scrolling through my phone, half-paying attention, and waiting for any sign that Beyoncé was finally back. Then, just like magic, the door creaked open, and there she was, standing in the doorway with that little smile, looking all casual and perfect.
"Oh my God, Bey!" I squealed, hopping off the bed and running to her. I launched myself at her, wrapping my arms around her neck and my legs around her waist. She held me up easily, laughing as I peppered her face with kisses, one after the other.
"You really missed me that bad, huh?" she teased, her hands holding me steady as I clung onto her.
"Mhm....so much. I was dying without you here," I mumbled between kisses.
She chuckled, leaning her forehead against mine, eyes sparkling. "Alright, I'm here now. And your food's waiting for you downstairs."
I pouted, pressing my lips into a playful frown. "Downstairs? Bring it up here for me? Pleeeease?"
