As Shashwat returned to the dorm that night, exhaustion weighed on him, but a deeper ache filled his heart-a longing for Siya that had grown sharper with each passing day. He hadn't managed to call her that evening, and he had no picture of her to keep him company in these quiet, lonely hours. His gaze drifted to the notebook lying on his bunk, its blank pages calling to him with a silent promise of relief. An idea took root in his mind, and before he could question it, he reached for the notebook and a pencil, sitting down on the edge of his bed.

With a steady breath, he closed his eyes and allowed her image to surface, drawing her from memory, every detail clear in his mind. He began with her eyes, the spark of mischief and warmth they held, as if they could speak all the words her lips didn't. His pencil moved slowly, sketching the soft curve of her eyelashes, the gentle arch of her brows. Then he worked his way down to her nose, tracing it with careful strokes, and finally to her lips, capturing the subtle smile that he adored-a smile that could ease his worries and lift his spirits.

As the drawing took shape, he felt his heart beating a little faster, his mind and hand in perfect rhythm as he poured himself into each detail. He sketched her hair, framing her face, each line making her feel closer, almost real. Her face now looked back at him from the paper, full of life and warmth, as though she were truly there.

When he finished, he placed the pencil down and stared at the sketch, his eyes filling with emotion. His heart felt lighter, as though a piece of him had finally found solace. He reached out with trembling fingers, softly tracing the outline of her face. The pain of missing her softened, replaced by a comforting sense of peace. It was as if, in that simple drawing, he had bridged the gap between them, holding her close in the only way he could.

A tear escaped down his cheek as he continued to gaze at her, his fingers tenderly caressing the page. "Mishti," he whispered, his voice barely audible but filled with raw emotion. Unable to resist, he brought the notebook closer, pressing a gentle kiss to the sketched forehead, as if somehow she could feel his love through that simple gesture.

Laying back on his bed, he held the notebook against his chest, his gaze lingering on her sketched face until his eyelids grew heavy.

Meanwhile, Siya lay on her bed, phone clutched in her hand, her gaze fixed on the screen, waiting-hoping-that Shashwat would call. She scrolled through their photos together, each one capturing moments that filled her heart with warmth. A soft smile played on her lips as she lingered over a picture of the two of them, her head resting on his shoulder, his arm wrapped around her protectively. That familiar warmth bloomed in her chest, filling the emptiness his absence had left behind.
