The next day, Shashwat left for the academy early in the morning and after that day, it was Ritika’s turn to leave for France, and the house was filled with a mix of excitement and sadness. Her packed suitcases were near the door, and she was standing with her parents, who were hugging her tightly, their eyes moist but proud.

“Take care, beta,” her mother whispered, holding her close. “We’ll miss you so much.”

“I’ll miss you too, Maa, Papa,” Ritika replied, her voice soft but steady as she hugged them both again.

She turned toward the living room, where her siblings were sitting, all engrossed in their phones. Her eyebrows shot up, and she placed her hands on her hips.

“Guys, ab toh phone se bahar niklo… jaa rahi hoon main!” she exclaimed dramatically, trying to grab their attention.

Siya, without even looking up, replied cheekily, “Haan haan, jaldi jao. Humein disturbance ho rahi hai.”

Ritika shook her head with a smile. “This time, I’m coming back after a whole year, maybe longer,” she added, her tone a little more serious.

That got their attention. In an instant, her siblings dropped their phones and rushed to her, wrapping her in a group hug. The sudden warmth of their embrace caught her off guard, and she let out a soft laugh as she hugged them back tightly.

After a while, they reluctantly broke the hug, and Ritika looked at each of them, her expression filled with affection. She cupped Reyansh’s face gently, noticing he was looking down, avoiding her gaze.

“Reyansh, focus on your studies,” she said softly, her thumb brushing his cheek. “And this is the time to send your writings to publications. You’re amazing at it, and the world needs to see your talent.”

He sniffled softly, nodding, still not meeting her eyes.

She turned to Siya next, pulling her into a brief hug before holding her by the shoulders. “Siya, try to get the best college for yourself. And don’t forget to have fun, alright? Bahot masti karna, but balance it out.”

Siya nodded, her usual carefree smile tinged with a hint of sadness.

Ritika smiled before shifting her attention to Divya. “Aur tujhse kya samjhaun, dadi maa? Tu toh sabko hi sikha deti hai!” Ritika teased, making everyone chuckle. “But listen, focus on your boards, okay? Do your best, but don’t stress about it. You’ll do great.”
