WILD WAVES.
002 | our spot"WE KNOW, WE ALL KNOW." As the words came out of Cleo's mouth, Lou felt her slightly ajar lips, close. She didn't know how to respond, she didn't want to. Her leg started to bounce as she sat on the edge of her bed. "Does JJ know?" Lou finally replied, her voice barely a squeak.
"No— just Me, Sarah, Kie and Pope." Cleo said, a reassuring look on her face as she added, "You can speak to me, ya know that?" A thankful smile appeared on Louelle's face. "I know, just scared..." She spoke quietly.
"Why? Come on. Talk to me." Cleo pushed Lou's shoulder playfully, trying to lighten the mood. "I just— don't know if I'm gonna be a good mom. What if I'm like Luke?"
There it was. Lou didn't want to admit it, it was embarrassing. She didn't want to think about her father and everything he put her through. But now, she's with child. Everything came flooding back from her childhood— the screams and cries, the countless fights, the trauma. She feared bringing that onto a child.
"Hey, no. If you're even thinking that, means you're not like him. You never will be." Cleo tried to reassure her, although she'd never been in that position.
"... Thank you," Louelle replied. She needed to hear that, her mind had been running wild. Now, that's one less worry. Yet she still needed to speak to Rafe, he had to know. Maybe then the pit in her stomach would leave.
"Hey, why don't ya come and watch me smoke since you can't anymore, huh, blondie?" Cleo teased as she got off the bed, leading them to the garden of the place they all made a home.
The sun started to set, a golden light glazing over them. The lighter sparked, an inhale off the joint as the pogues passed it around. Lou awkwardly sat to the side, weird looks coming from JJ when Lou declined the zoot as he passed it to her.
"You too good to smoke anymore, Maybank?" John B laughed, noticing Lou didn't want to get high for the first time— since she was twelve. "John B. cut it out," Sarah mumbles under her breath, secretly nudging his side. The messy-haired boy frowned, confused about what he had done wrong. "I'll explain later." She added.
Jj lifted his head up from between Kiara's legs, looking at her with a smirk "You know what that's about?" he murmured. "No. She probably just doesn't wanna smoke. I don't know." Kie suggested with a shrug of her shoulders. "Mhm. Yeah, ya do." he teases.
"Why aren't ya smoking then?" JJ says turning back to his sister, his blue eyes turning red. " 'M just not. Are you trying to peer pressure me?" Louelle retorts, cocking her head to the side. "No just you always—" he said quickly. "Wow, jj. Being a real good brother." Lou answered back sarcastically.
"Guys, can we just take a minute and think about how nice this moment is? Like all of us, together." Sarah said, completely mellow. "Oh god, who let the kook princess get high?" Lou mocked, taking the joint and throwing it out into the grass.
"You still studying over der'?" Cleo calls to Pope, who sits on the patio with all his notebooks. "Mhm," he mumbles, trying to focus.

"Rafe." Sofia hummed, holding the 6'4 man's hand as they walked to Topper's party. "Yeah?" he replied, squeezing her hand that tiny bit tighter. "Why was that Maybank girl trying to talk to you earlier?" she asked innocently looking into his eyes. "I don't know, I didn't listen." the Cameron boy shrugged. "Okay... do you talk to her still?"
Oh, great. Now he's just going to be questioned about everything that involved Louelle Maybank. She was his first proper love, okay yeah— he was 19 but it was the only time he'd ever felt something for a girl over than lust. "She's nothing, okay?" he reminded Sofia. Though it wasn't true.
"Okay." she sighed softly, flickering her eyelashes out a Rafe with a grin on her lips. He smiles back, bending down, so much. Just to reach her mouth placing a kiss on her pout. "You're the only one I want, okay?" he reassured her.
Then his phone started to ring, he took it out of his pocket before saying quietly to Sofia "You can go in. I'll be a sec." She nods her head and goes ahead into the party.
"Hello?" Rafe Cameron said charmingly into his phone. "Hey, Rafe." a familiar voice says, his mouth opening as he recognizes it. "Lou, no. Stop trying to contact me," he said bluntly into the phone. "Rafe, wait. We need to talk— it's important." Louelle said quickly, her head wiping around to see if the pogues could hear her.
"Fine, say it. Say what you've been soooo desperate to say." Rafe spoke sarcastically. "I can't just meet me at our spot. Tonight." Lou said bluntly before finally hitting the hang-up button. As Rafe heard the other end of the go silent he groaned, holding his nose as he entered the kook-filled party "Fuck my life."
Then the golden sky turned a deep ocean blue, Rafe knew he had to find a way to slip away from Sofia. Her hand never left his, trying her best to keep him as close as possible— feeling jealousy fill her every time someone's eyes stayed on him for too long.
"Hey, I gotta go do something." Rafe said quickly and quietly, letting go of her. "Wait, what?" Sofia responded in a confused tone, turning her body to face him as he backed away. "Don't worry, I'll be quick." he left a kiss on her cheek, downed his beer and exited the event. Knowing he needed to get there.

"I'm gonna go out quick." Louelle mumbled quickly, jumping up off the deck chair. "Well, where you goin' pretty gal?" Cleo said playfully, watching her try run off. "Literally just need to go and talk to someone about something." The blonde reacted, grabbing her bag that she'd put the test and her phone in.
"M'kay, don't be long." Sarah added, waving her off. "Yeah bye," she called whilst speedwalking towards the beach.
The beach. That was their 'our spot' or had been.
It was the first place the two had met, it was late at night with yet another party going on. She was standing by the kegger, waiting for JJ to tap it. Then she saw him, a tall figure in a hidden area of the beach. No one else was there, he must've been doing something bad— and she wanted to know what.
Louelle tiptoed over, hoping no one saw as if to not give away his secret spot. She peered around the corner of the palm tree that hid him slightly. He was using the back of his phone, snorting a line of white powder that made him feel godly.
When his finger brushed the top of his lip to rid any remains of the drug, he finally saw her. A big blue-eyed blonde biting her lip as she played with the string holding her bikini up.
What happened after that, had her bent over in front of him, curses leaving both their mouths as they tried to stay unseen by the other teens.
And since that moment, it had been 'our spot.'
