The next morning, Yun Biqiu sought out Li Lianhua at the entrance of Pudu Temple, pondering a question. However, he only saw the serene temple gate and the lush greenery and whispering trees. The wooden structure where he had enjoyed hot tea just the day before, had vanished.
His gaze fixed on the spot where the lotus house with auspicious patterns had once stood. After a long moment, he sighed deeply, turning to look at the sky beyond the mountain. The sky was indeed clear, and the world sparkled with the sun’s brightness.
Yet, his heart weighed heavily with unanswered questions. The foremost among them — who constructed the tunnel linking Pudu Temple and Baichuan Temple, and why? Why did Jiao Liqiao arrive at Qingyuan Mountain last August? Moreover, what was the connection to the recent incident involving the seizure of the royal seal at Yipin Tomb? The former emperors Xicheng and Fangji, Di Feisheng, Jiao Liqiao, the Jinyuan Alliance, and the Yulong Niuma gang — they all tied to something significant.
And then there was the mystery of Li Xiangyi, who was missing for ten years. Was he still alive, and if so, where was he?

Five miles away, Li Lianhua, drenched in sweat, urged a horse, two oxen, and a mule to pull his lotus house away from Qingyuan Mountain.
Against a clear, cloudless sky, his voice echoed, “Don’t fight! Don’t fight! There’s green grass ahead, radishes too… No need to bicker; I’ll release you when we get there! Let’s move quickly…”
The four beasts straining to move the renowned structure grappled fiercely, exchanging hostile glares. The horse, harboring a long-standing dislike for the other animal, opened its mouth and bit the mule hard.
