Chapter 10 - Gala

[We then cut to a Channel 6 Action News Report the next night. We see Tiffany Fluffit at the Gala of Goodness, located at the crash site of the meteorite. The meteorite itself is on display behind the stage.]

Tiffany: (on TV; to the camera) What up? We are just moments away from Professor Marmalade's Gala for Goodness, where the legendary Love Crater Meteorite will be on display for the first time ever.

[Cut to Marmalade's video of Wolf rescuing the kitten, with the headline "BAD GUYS BREAK INTO OUR HEARTS." Tons of people show this to others on their phones. Cut to Bad Guys smiling over the kitten. Cut back to Tiffany.]

Tiffany: (on TV; to the camera) But what everyone is really buzzing about is the Bad Guys, whose heart-melting rescue video has made them an overnight viral sensation.

[We see a limo driving down the road. Inside, Wolf discusses the plan with his crew. They're all wearing fancy suits.]

Wolf: (to the crew; smiles) All right, guys, this is the big one.

[Cut to the rundown on the plan. The Golden Dolphin is in a case with a keypad on it.]

Wolf: (voiceover; explains) The Golden Dolphin is inside a titanium case controlled by a randomly generated five-digit code, a code kept safe and secure inside a briefcase handcuffed to the chief of police.

[Transition to see Luggins holding the briefcase with the code inside. She stops at the bar and looks around for any sign of the Bad Guys.]

Teresa: (voiceover; aside) She's not messing around.

Wolf: (voiceover; explains) The code is only accessible with her authorized fingerprints.

[Snake slithers by her without being noticed.]

Snake: (voiceover; smirks) Leave that to me.

[He opens the briefcase and gets the code.]

Wolf: (voiceover; explains) While Snake gets the code, Shark will secure the fake Dolphin.

[Shark grabs the fake Dolphin without anyone spotting him.]

Shark: (voiceover; smiles) I like the sound of that.

[Then, Snake, Shark, and Piranha plant circuit jammers on the electrical boxes.]

Wolf: (voiceover; explains) Meanwhile, the rest of us plant circuit jammers.

[Cut to Tarantula on the DJ turntable, hacking through her computer.]

Tarantula: (voiceover; explains) Allowing me to hack into the power grid.

[Cut to the Bad Guys onstage with Marmalade and Diane. Wolf gives a speech to the audience.]

Wolf: (voiceover; explains) At the end of the night, we toast the professor, "Blah-blah-blah, yada yada," and when I say "Marmalade..."

[He presses a button his remote and the lights shut off. The audience is shocked while the Bad Guys make their move.]

Wolf: (voiceover; explains) Lights go out, and we'll have exactly four seconds to make our move.

[Snake inputs the code on the keypad and the case opens up. Snake grabs the real trophy and swallows it. Shark puts the fake one up and the case closes.]

Snake: (voiceover; smirks) The old switcheroo.

[Lights turn back on and Luggins grabs the fake Dolphin to hand to Marmalade. As the crowd applauds, the Bad Guys wave goodbye and leave and Teresa sneaking out with them.]

Wolf: (voiceover; explains) Chief hands Marmalade the fake Dolphin, we get our pardon, applause, applause, exit stage right, and by the time they realize what happened...
