Our story begins with Jason Blaze, son of Johnny Blaze and the next Ghost Rider. After finally stopping Mephistopheles and getting rid of the power of the Ghost Rider, Johnny went back to his hometown to be with the love of his life, Roxanne Simpson...
After the battle with Sammael, Jason began hanging out with his new but unlikely friend, Hellboy. He was unexpected, but acted like a teenage human at heart. Smoking cigars, running off from his parents, or parent, and doing dangerous things in life. Even though this was nice, he could've sworn he was being watched by a familiar presence, but he kept it to himself as he and the red half demon-like man continued walking through the alleyway. He watched as his new friend brought his tail up and slipped it through a metal fence, latching onto a six pack thing of beer.
Hellboy: [Turns to Jason] So, you've never touched a cigar. [He shakes his head] How 'bout drinkin'? Ever drink a cold one before?
Jason: [Smirks] Only in my spare time, but really, only with my father.
Hellboy: [Pulls out another thing of beer] Good thing I've got more than enough for where we're going.
Hellboy walks away, just barely standing on his own two feet, leaving Jason to stand in his same spot for a few seconds. Hellboy was different than most people he's encountered, but he wasn't all that different. In some ways, he saw some of himself in the big guy. The two eventually make their way to Bellamie Hospital.

This was a psychiatric hospital, which ironically, was where Hellboy was leading Jason to. The boy looked at the building and felt something similar to that of his flames, something feint. Inside the building was tons of people looking to be treated for all kinds of illness, but there were two people here Hellboy needed to see.

On the left was Elizabeth Sherman, and on the right was her sister, Mia Sherman, the same two people who were seen on the television screens in Hellboy's room. They were wearing a set of red patient clothing each, slippers and a light jacket. They were slowly walking through the hallway, past several of the other patients housed in the hospital, until two of the staff got into a talk about something very intriguing.
Female Staff 1: [Looks out window] There's a big, red man and young boy down there.
Female Staff 2: That's nice, dear. Santa and his little helper aren't here for another month.
Female Staff 1: Not Santa and his little helper.
Female Staff 2: Well, who, then?
Both Liz and Mia knew who the staff were talking about and decided to go out to the front of the building, looked around for who was outside, but were directed towards a statue. Behind it was Hellboy and Jason, one holding the thing of beer and the other just standing there, minding his own business.
