Our story begins with Jason Blaze, son of Johnny Blaze and the next Ghost Rider. After finally stopping Mephistopheles and getting rid of the power of the Ghost Rider, Johnny went back to his hometown to be with the love of his life, Roxanne Simpson...
Sometime after the B.P.R.D. got the red alert of trouble in the city, they prepared to go to the place in question: the Machen Library. A few ways away from the library, of course, was Jason Blaze, who was sightseeing the streets, until he caught sight of the huge group of people outside the building.

Jason: [Curious; mutters to himself] Wonder what's got the people so rounded up like this...
The stuntman walked over to the crowd of people, noticing a news lady doing a report on a disturbance of the Machen Library.
Reporter: We're here at the Machen Library... where just hours ago, an alarm was triggered. The N.Y.P.D. has yet to issue a statement. We've got SWAT vans, paramedics. You name it. [Turns to the side] And now here comes a garbage truck. A large garbage truck.
Jason inspects the garbage truck and senses something oddly familiar about it, like something was inside. Suddenly, he remembered his nightmare from when he left his home, the one about the red demon-like creature.
Jason: [Mutters] Well, what do 'ya know? Time to see what this "garbage truck" is all about...
Walking away from the crowd, Jason heads to his own personal lockup garage, prepared to get his motorcycle on the road, even with all these people standing around. Inside the garbage truck, however, Agent Myers and Clay sit up front, all the while Hellboy and Abe sit inside the back, looking out at the people.
Hellboy: Look at them ugly suckers, Blue. One sheet of glass between them and us.
Abe: Story of my life.
As Abe, or Blue as his friends call him, was preparing his breathing apparatus, Hellboy, or Red as that's what Abe and all of their friends call him, lets out an irritated groan.
Hellboy: Outside. I could be outside.
Abe: [Referring to Mia] You mean, outside with her.
Hellboy: [Seriously] Don't get psychic with me, fella.
Abe: Nothing psychic about it. [Puts on goggles] You're easy.
Hellboy: How am I gonna get a girl? I drive around in a garbage truck.
Abe: Mia left us, Red. Liz too. [Red grabs his gun] Take the hint.
Hellboy: We don't take hints.
Agent Myers and Clay step out of the garbage truck and prepare to get both Abe and Hellboy inside of the library, but Jason is seen walking along, inspecting the group of suits.
Jason: [Walks over] Excuse me. [Taps Agent Myers' shoulder] Excuse me. Could you tell me what's going on here?
Myers: Uh, that's strictly... confidential.
Jason: [Nods] Okay. Thanks for at least sharing a bit, friend.
