I was teaching before a synagogue leader fell at my feet. He pleaded to come to his house because his only daughter was dying. I gave him a sympathetic look. Although as I was trying to, the crowds of people were pushing and pulling me. It felt like I was going to be crushed. Immediately, I paused. "Who touched me?" I asked, looking around.
"Master," Peter said, attempting to keep the crowd back from me. He was also gesturing to the crowds of people as he spoke, "There's a bunch of people here. All of them are touching you. So what are you talking about?"
I shook my head. "Someone touched me. I felt some power leave me." I continued to look around before a woman fell at my feet. I looked at her as she was trembling. I knelt down next to her, placing my hand on her shoulder. "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace."I turned to see that someone had told the synagogue leader that it was useless to bother me since his daughter was head. I shook my head. "Jairus, Don't be afraid. Just believe, and she will be healed."
Jairus led me to his house. I prohibited anyone from entering except the father and the mother, Peter, John, and James. They were all mourning for her. "Stop wailing," I told them, "She's not dead. She's just sleeping."
They let out a humorless laugh. They knew she was dead. I shook my head at their disbelief. I walked up to their daughter and took her hand. "My child, get up!" I told her. Immediately, her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. "Give her something to eat, and do not tell anyone what has happened."
They nodded and obeyed.
