Chapter 3: Newbie in N.E.P.S

•after the final battle of the third event there was a brief break before the winners were shown, the officers watching were still shocked by the fact a seemingly weak student had beaten Joshua adam's, many believed it was rigged, others saw it as a turning point, and others didn't care. Unfortunately both Joshua and m/n were still unconscious, they therefore couldn't attend the ceremony for the winners. All the winners of the final round had gotten a gold medal each and m/n's would he given his at a later date•

•zhu yuan, seth and qingyi had decided to skip the award ceremony and head straight to the infirmary in hopes that m/n would be awake but were disappointed when they were told otherwise•

Seth: he's still unconscious?

Nurse: yes, he had already pushed his body too far when using that form, but when he used that beam attack, it pushed him over the limit. His body is exhausted and he wont be awake for a while.

Zhu yuan: i see.......

Qingyi: its fine captain, we can just come back in a few days to find him.

Zhu yuan: right *turns to nurse* this is my email *hands paper* please let me know when he wakes up, okay?

Nurse: alright, but for now he needs rest so im gonna have to ask you to leave please

Zhu yuan: right, thank you anyway.

•the trio then leaves the infirmary, happy that at least now they have a way of knowing when m/n will be awake, besides that they cant just wait around at the school until he does. The three made their way back to janus quarter station and continue to work•

(A few days later)

•slowly opening his eyes, m/n groans heavily before sitting up and rubbing his eyes•

M/n: w-where am i?

•looking around he notices the infirmary uniform he's in and then he remembers what happened•

M/n: i was able to use ultra instinct again......*sigh* whatever.....

Nurse: ah your awake, good.

M/n: o-oh hello....

Nurse: your probably confused so let me explain, after you knocked out that Joshua kid you had exhausted your body and pushed it past it's usual limit, causing you to fall unconscious for a few days...

M/n: o-oh....w-wait a few days?!

Nurse: yep, its been 3 days since your battle, oh right heres your medal for winning.

•m/n takes the gold medal into his hands and gently moves his fingers over the rough symbol, the insignia of New eridu public security was engraved onto it•

Nurse: some people will come by a little later, for now rest up, okay?

M/n: mhm.....

•a few minutes after the nurse left the door slammed open as the okarun, the nerdy kid m/n helped, fell into the room as m/n timidly looked at him•

Okarun: m-m/n! Your awake!

M/n: o-oh hey okarun, whats up?
