JUST FOR THE WORLD TO END

Chapter 3 - Silver Mall

The two friends now in the safe zone look at each other. "We did it !" Bobo cheered running around. Jard starts to look into each boxes in the room. It was filled with cola, speeding pad and barriers. "We should stay here for a while? You know, in case the monster is waiting for us !" Jard explained to Bobo. They both started to look more into the mysterious room.
There were boxes everywhere, it would take a very while to unbox everything in those. Jard sighs and takes a sip of soda.

After 2 hours half of the boxes were done, nothing so interesting was found in them whatsoever. Only some boring supplies that Jard could give to survivors. Bobo fell asleep a while ago, he probably couldn't handle all that stress, which was understandable. Jard walked towards the last pit of boxes and started to look into them. "Barriers, Soda, and... Huh what is this?" A weird orange light was hiding in the back of the boxes, it looked like lamp, yet something seemed off about it, why was it this bright ? The guy decided to not pay that much intention about it and shoved the thing back in the box.

The two guys finally finished packing up the  supplies. It was now time for Jard to go. They both gave each other a radio in case. "Good luck out there kiddo !" Jard says patting Bobo's head. He walked away with his HEAVY ASS backpack.

The road was still very long before silver mall, hopefully it was still the morning, so no more immediate attack from these monsters. Our protagonist was getting tired and the sun shined a lot today. It's way worse than ding P.E, at this point it would be ten times better to do P.E than escaping monsters every ten seconds. We could see the big city, that means Jard was soon about to arrive. Finally, he was walking for weeks to silver mall. Before Alleyways, he came from a big city with Halloween decorations (Spooky streets overhaul Halloween event), He met some survivors there and traded some supplies. The road was still as creepy and quiet as before, nothing really new.
It was silent as usual, no screams, no nothing. Jard was soon arriving in the other city, he has to beware in case any inconveniences happens. Cars were everywhere, roaming around, some exploded and others were flipped? The view was not very welcoming, any normal person would go back immediately but as I see our yellow guys is not normal. He kept going, looking around just in case something anormal happens. Suddenly, something picked the corner of his eyes, a vrooming sound was approaching. He couldn't tell if it came from a monster or a real car. He looked around panicking, since it was almost impossible to tell if it was a creature or not, Jard hid in some bushes nearby. As the sound gets closer and closer, we could finally tell that it was a normal car drove by an human being. "I haven't seen a working car in a while.." Jard thought. He jumped off the bushes and tries to stop the car.

"Hey !! Wait up!" He screams in hope for the driver to notice him. The car slows down as it approaches. The yellow guy walks towards and tries to identify the driver.

"Can I help you sir ?" A girl with a black bun asked. The car was kinda small and there weren't any person in it beside the conductor.
"I need to go to the city over there, could u drive me ? Its tiring to walk all these miles alone!" Jard asked politely to the young lady.
"Not even a greeting? How rude ! How do you want ppl to drive u off if you don't have manners ?" She commented
"I'm sorry ma'am, please I've been like this for days now, I'm tired of walking! Wouldn't u mind driving such a gentleman like me ??" He apologized
"Is the gentleman in the room with us ? I'll sure drive you, but be careful next time, you shouldn't ask random ppl for a car ride."
Jard gets in the car and they both get going. It was way faster now to get to the mall.

The woman's car was dirty and it looked like it wasn't washed for centuries, Jard just assumed she stole it from a parking lot. The ride was getting a little awkward so, the lady started a conversation.
"Name's Mikey, you?" She introduced herself
"Jard!" She nodded and glared at him for a little.
"Why are you going to the city ? It's really dangerous there you know?" She asked
"Hm honestly, I just need supplies to keep ppl safe. I try to help anybody I see and find answers to this whole apocalypse thing!" Jard answered. "How about you ? Why are u heading there?" Jard asked back.
"Honestly I just lurk around the region to help ppl! Like right now, I also stay around in hope to find my sister, she works as a scientist in Elysium company and I'm really worried for her, I just hope she is alright!" Mikey added sighing.
Jard spy with the corner of his eyes his surrounding. Inside the car was less dirty, it seemed like Mikey took care of it before driving.

About 20 minutes later, they both entered the city. It was quiet like everywhere else. All the buildings were locked and graffitis were drawn on them, it was kind of fascinating looking at them. Mikey stopped the car.
"We can't go further with a car, it will attract the nextbots, I'm sorry about that!" Mikey commented.
"Nextbots? Is that how you call these monsters? I didn't hear much about them" Jard asked confused.
"Huh? You didn't know? It was announced in the news before their break in! " She explained.
"I didn't watch the news that day, I was skating and my phone battery ran out" He justified himself feeling a bit embarrassed by his ignorance. "They are actually micro robots that turns a living 's imagination into some sort of imagery attacking others. Elysium company tried to make robots capable of turning anything from human's mind into some sort of.. creatures! I'm not really sure about that last part but I'm sure you'll find other information!" Mikey tried to explain carefully to make sure Jard understood clearly everything. "Wow I sure missed a lot.. I feel kinda dumb now haha! Thanks for the ride, I hope u find your sister!"
Jard looked at her blankly. When he finally returns to common sense, he goes out of the car and waves goodbye to his road partner.

Here it goes again, Jard heads to the mall carefully, looking around. A loud sound could be heard from behind, probably a « Nextbot ». He hid behind some garbages, in hope the monster didn't notice his presence. Hopefully, it probably went away for some other victims.
Jard decided to not think about it too much and kept going.

5 minutes later, the cap guy was Infront of his goal, he sighs exhausted. It has been a while he traveled to get here. The mall was huge, it sure has supplies, maybe other survivors!Now here is the problem, like the other buildings the entrance was blocked by cars and trucks, it was impossible to go in. He was losing precious time and it was already the afternoon. He spotted with the corner of his eyes a window, he walked towards it. The window was half broken, a single hit could make it collapse. "I don't have anything to break it, I'll just punch it!" Jard thought to himself. He took a few steps behind, rised his arm and ran at the window punching it in the process. In the shock, the window broke in a loud breaking sound. Suddenly a familiar sound approached in the distance. It was the same Nextbot as earlier! Without hesitation Jard hoped in the window and entered the abandoned building.

"Ugh finally I'm in.. I can rest here for a whole week! Now let's explore" He gets up and looks at his surroundings.
He was in an old cinema, it was really and he couldn't see anything. He walked following the wall with his hand, it was a good strategy to escape "labyrinth" even though he wasn't in one. The bright lights flashed him as  the wall ended. He rubbed his eyes, partially blinded by the shining.. lights?
"How is it possible that the electricity is still going ? Are there people?" He questioned himself while continuing his exploration.
"I should take a rest now, I deserves it" He sits down on a bench and began to sleep.
