JUST FOR THE WORLD TO END

Chapter 2- Neighborhood

The neighborhood's lights were still working. All the houses were locked down and the only lights working were the street's one. Cars and trucks were placed everywhere, abandoned. It was past midnight during a Friday night.
In the distance a humanoid shadow figure was approaching. An inaudible scream invaded the "calm" streets.

After the alleyways  Jard was heading to the mall in hope to find some supplies. He was happy to know that there were other humans still alive in this world. He looks at the talkie walkie and puts it back in his pocket. The girl from earlier also gave him a landmine. Apparently landmines can freeze the nextbots for 10 seconds, which was very useful.

It was getting pretty late and he was walking for hours. The sun already went down long ago and he couldn't barely see anything. He notices lights in the distance. He didn't saw working lights in a while. He run towards the direction noticing that it came from a whole neighborhood.
He looks around and gets up on a car to inspect the whole place, it looked like all civilians left, or worse. Strangely the neighborhood only had one entry, there were no other way out of it instead of the one came from. Before Jard realized his error, an inaudible scream is heard behind him.

A "humanoid" shadow figure was speeding at him with full speed. Without hesitation he jumps off the car and runs towards the entry to the sewers. He drinks an energy drink to boost his speed before jumping in the sewers. He quickly hide behind some boxes and breathed heavily. He waits for the shadow to go away before finally coming out of his hiding spot.

"What was that, it was faster than any monsters.." he whispers to himself
"Hey there" Someone was behind him. He looked quickly behind him and fell down. The person was a teenager with a blue cap and blue clothes.
"Who are you" he asked trying to make a distance between them.
"My name is bobo, I live here since the beginning of the apocalypse" The guy named «bobo» answered.
How can someone this young survive in this apocalyptic world?
"So what are you doing here ? Don't you know it's an obvious trap for travelers here ?" The blue guy asked.
"I'm heading towards the mall in hope to get some supplies. Do u think there is any supplies here ?"
"Now that I think about it, there is a safe room up there, it's full of food, water and medical kit. Sadly we need a lever to open it" Bobo pointed up his head.
"Do you know where is that lever ?" Jard furrowed
"No sadly" he sighed
"I need those supplies do you think you can help me find the lever ?"
"Hm ok sure, but I don't wanna die you know?"

Jard was still panting from the run and he was almost out of cola. "Do you have energy drinks perchance?" He asked. Bobo hands him a box full of it. "Here some strangers left it here before, yk".

Jard looked around the sewers, It had two entrance, one was where he entered and the other leads to the opposite side of the neighborhood. The water was really clear, and the tunnels were blocked by metallic colons. Some trash bins were placed in front of holes. We could see rat's corpse in the water.

"We should think of a plan to get to the safe room" Jard suggested
"Hm, one of us can distract it while the other tries to find the lever ? How about that ?" Bobo answered.
"Sounds good!"

They both gets up and walks out of the sewers, they both agreed that jard will distract the shadow while bobo finds the lever.

Within a minutes Jard starts whistling to attract the shadow towards him. The humanoid creatures heads towards his direction, he quickly turns in circles to trap the shadow into following him. "I FOUND IT !" Bobo screamed while running towards the «safe zone». It was time for Jard to run away, he drinks his special energy drink and at the last moment, enters the safe room and pull the lever.
They were both panting, and then looked at each other. "WE DID IT !!" Bobo cheered.

I'm so sorry for posting later than I was supposed to :(. I'm working on an FNF mod rn and I forgot about this story. Also sorry if its shorter.
