The next day, Soobin wakes to find that Beomgyu has been busy on Instagram and Weverse overnight. He's posted a set of photos from their walk by the river, edited and captioned to make it look like they were on a date.

The fans, of course, have eaten it up.

There's a great photo Beomgyu took where the wind is whipping Soobin's hair about his face that has way too many likes already, the moonlight catching in his silver hair, bright against the darkness of the night sky.

Someone's replied to it: Get yourself a man who looks at you the way Soobin looks at Beomgyu.

Beomgyu had told him to think about Yeonjun before he took the picture.

Underneath it, someone else has posted: I hope my soulmate one day looks at me like that.

Yeonjun, usually the first to like and comment on any posts they make, is conspicuously absent.

Beomgyu keeps it up for the rest of the day, finding any and every excuse to practically glue himself to Soobin's side. Constantly playing with his hair, sitting next to him in interviews so he can drape himself over him at every opportunity, calling him Soobinnie-hyung. If Soobin didn't know better, he'd think Beomgyu had a crush on him.

Their staff, of course, love it.

Soobin's pretty sure they give them a month's worth of content in behind the scenes video clips and photos.

But it's still not? Making Yeonjun talk to him??

If anything, Beomgyu's plan seems to have the opposite effect. As the day goes on, Yeonjun gets more and more surly, going from avoiding Soobin to sulking so much that he doesn't talk to anyone.

That evening management schedule another Live, this time a full-group one to talk about the talk show performance they'd done earlier that day. They stream it in Taehyun's room, as the only one of them with a single room this trip, and therefore the only one with a bed big enough to fit them all on.

Soobin sits up by the headboard, the three kids sprawled out at the bottom of the mattress by his feet. When Yeonjun walks into the room and sees the space next to Soobin, he freezes for a fraction of a second and then climbs onto the bed next to him, careful to put a ridiculous amount of distance between them.

Even so, his arm with his soulband is within touching distance.

Yeonjun is still wearing his soulband from their performance earlier that night. It's a new one from an American fashion company. Rather than a traditional band, it's a thin, gauzy sort of fabric wrapped around his wrist and tied in a loose knot. Soobin wants nothing more than to reach out and touch it, to curl his fingers in the fabric and see if it really is as silky-soft as it looks.

Soobin's still wearing his silver soulband, the metal cool against his wrist.

He wonders what Yeonjun did with the matching black metal one.

The Live itself isn't anything out-of-the-ordinary, just regular chat about their performance on the American talk show and how much they enjoyed seeing their fans. Just like on the Live with Beomgyu, Yeonjun is careful to avoid talking directly to Soobin, making sure to keep distance between them and never even glancing in his direction. Soobin can feel the roiling stormcloud of his emotions through the soulbond, dark and moody.

Their younger members have none of the same issues, shuffling around and lying all over each other, bumping knees and elbows as they constantly fight over who gets to hold the phone with the chat on it. It's cute at first, but after he's kicked in the shin a fourth time as Beomgyu attempts to drape himself over both Taehyun and Kai's laps, Soobin loses patience.
