"Frank I'm aware of how your team operates, that is the reason I want you to head this new project.
Now no more shop talk, you and your friend go in, and have a good time, work can wait until Monday."

As we looked for a table with a couple of open seats, I was bombarded with a hundred hand shakes.
Julie was running the gauntlet with grace, although I could tell that she was a bit uncomfortable being in a room full of people that she didn't know.

Off to my right, I saw a couple of my coworkers waving me over.
Redirecting Julie, we found a couple of seats that were saved for us.
As we took our seats, I introduced Julie to my friends.
The guys in my group had a hard time keeping their eyes of of her, as for the woman, I could sense a degree of jealousy at her beauty.

The prerequisite part of these gatherings was the mandatory speeches by the CEO, as well as those of different department heads.
This took about thirty minutes before the crowd grew restless.
Sensing the mood of the group, Walter summed up the speeches by telling everyone to have a good time and enjoy the evening.

Minutes later the waiters brought out an endless train of carts holding more plates than they were ever designed for.
I was amazed that the carts didn't collapse under the weight.
The meal began with soup, and salad, followed by either  Cornish Hen with white rice and green peas, or broiled trout with long grain wild rice and asparagus, as well as vegetarian options.
Both Julie and I opted for the trout, not to heavy on the stomach, and hard to screw up as a meal.

Throughout the meal, everybody wanted to know about Julie, and how she managed to snag the most eligible bachelor in the company.
Everyone around the table told her that they had all tried to set me up with their friends, yet I had turned them all down.
Some of them were convinced that I was Gay, which is why I didn't take anyone up on their offers to arrange a date with me and their friends.

Julie took all this ribbing with a smile and a chuckle.
When she finally spoke up it was to say,

"I can guaranty that Frank isn't gay, I've never had a man satisfy me like frank does.
This man can go for hours leaving me worn out, yet begging for more."

As the last words fell from her lips, the majority of people around the table were sitting there slack jawed, and trying to think of something to say.

As the band began taking their seats, Julie pulled me up, and pulled me out on to the dance floor.
Taking her in my arms we began a slow dance, both of us beginning to get swept up in the music, and the mood.

"Julie I think that everyone at the table is still trying to recover from what you told them.
You know I'm going to take lot of ribbing on Monday morning, but frankly it was worth it to see their faces as you were talking."

"Frank, I didn't like how some of them were having fun at your expense, so I thought I should leave them something to give them pause.
I think I did a good job, don't you agree?"
She said with a quiet laugh.

"Julie it's been years since I have had the opportunity to go out dancing, especial with such a beautiful woman."

"Why Frank, that's the nicest thing anyone has said to me in ages.
I don't think your dancing has suffered from lack of practice, you are a very good dancer.
If at any time you feel the need to refresh your skills at dancing, feel free to call me up, I would be thrilled to take you up on the offer to dinner and dancing."

With that Julie fell silent as she nestled her head on my shoulder.
Suddenly I felt a great sense of comfort as Julie swayed to the music while she held me close as we succumbed to the music and the melding of our bodies as we danced.
