Kenta opened his eyes to pain and panic...
Pain because he was stabbed, and left to bleed out and die, and panic because he knew that his tormentor was alive, not only alive but aiming to end him in retaliation for what he had done.
What he should have done since Pete asked him to go with him, should have done since he saw and knew all the truth.
He was pretty sure Pete was informed of what had happened to him, but they must haven't told him that Tony was alive. Pete had been right about Tony, and if Pete had been right about Tony, then he had most likely been right about Way as well...
Kenta tried to sit up but stopped when pain shot up in his side, a hand to his shoulder pushing him back to lie down...
Dean...
"Don't move, you lost a lot of blood by the time the warden found you..."
Kenta closed his eyes for a minute, feeling the loss of blood already rendering him dizzy even with the slightest movement.
"They let Pete know about everything, he visited by you were still drugged up, and he said he had something up his sleeve..."
Kenta wondered what Pete possibly could have done that he hadn't done months and months ago...
"Should I call a doctor for you? You are not speaking much, Are you in pain?"
Kenta shook his head, a question on the tip of his tongue. Or rather a thought...
"How willing are you to side with Tony again?"
The question seemed to take Dean by surprise because his face paled and he remained silent for a bit before answering.
"I am willing to side with however can get me out of here and give me back my life, if any life..."
That answer didn't assure Kenta one bit.
—
"Are you sure about this?"
"We don't have a choice, do we?"
Way looked at Pete once more, both of them were dressed to the ninth, and Pete counted on that because Way had to look alluring enough that his placing his hand in a friendly manner on anyone wouldn't seem out of place.
Or else they would get into more trouble than they already are.
"It's ok, P'Pete... I got this, just because it didn't work on you, doesn't mean it won't work on anyone else..."
It had been on the tip of Pete's tongue to say that he trusted Way's powers, except that he didn't, he truly didn't know the extent of them or what they would be like with Way being as hurt as he was...
They walked into the chief's office with confidence they didn't possess, and it was up to Way to do his deed and take care of the entire matter.
Which he did, up to the point that Pete was pretty afraid Way was going to pass out, but the result would mean that Kenta, Dean, and Winner would walk out with Pete...
And no questions would be asked...
—
"Asleep?"
Dean asked Pete, and Pete was a bit surprised when he realized the boy had a voice, he didn't remember talking to him again, but he did remember him being the one who messed up with Charlie's car.
"Both of them... Way was just too drained, and Kenta is still healing..."
Dean nodded, looking at his hands before for a second, and Pete didn't need to use his powers to know he was struggling with his inner demons to speak.
