MATEO:

Aeryn was back... again.

And she had blonde hair now. Her hair was in long butterfly locs, and she really didn't look like she wanted me to talk to her. She came earlier, around 6 pm in the evening, and now it was 9:35 pm, and she was quiet, reading a book, with her headphones on her head.

She didn't talk much since she came, just having short conversations with Terulah here and there. Apart from that, she was just sitting upside down on a couch, reading. She's sometimes a weirdo, but... She's Aeryn.

"Yo, Matt. Can you come with me to the room real quick?" Andres asked, getting up from the beanbag chair.

Terulah threw both of us a lengthy side-eye. "Are you guys going to make out or something? Ew." She said, grimacing. "I have to get that image out of my head. I'm going to watch the Sturniolo Triplets; don't talk to me. Bye."

Andres just rolled his eyes and threw her a kiss, which she caught and ate. I don't want to know the context of that.

We walked to our room in silence, Andres' face not even betraying a single emotion. As soon as we got to our room, Andres shut the door and turned to me.

"You've got to freaking apologize, dude." Andres' said, and I groaned audibly. "For real, man. You were an asshole to her, and she left. The least you could do is to at least be decent and apologize."

"But that's our dynamic. We fight and stuff. No hard feelings." I countered. I mean, she hadn't blown up. That's gotta be a good thing, right?

"Cut the bullshit, man. You know you crossed the line with that shit you said. You can't even see through your thick skull that she's not interacting with you because she doesn't need you making such a jerk move again." Andres said, and he looked like he was getting angry. I don't know why.

"Why so pissed, man?" I asked, raising a brow in confusion.

"In case you didn't know, it's affecting Terulah too," he said, tilting his head for emphasis. I opened my eyes wide in realization.

"Oh, so this is about Terulah. If this didn't involve Terulah, you wouldn't even care, would you?" I asked, furrowing my brows in mock confusion.

"No-"

"It's okay, save it; I'm going to apologize." I cut him off. I walked past him, out of our room.

Walking to the lounge, I was thinking about a lot. The past two weeks without Aeryn made me uneasy, I wouldn't lie. I just didn't feel okay. I didn't want to eat because it reminded me that Aeryn would always pick extra food and would give it to me halfway through mine, saying something along the lines of "You're basically a fat pig; you need to be fed so you can lose all the weight on the basketball court." I couldn't listen to music because she'd always remove my headphones and exchange them with hers just so I could listen to her music because, in her own words, she was absolutely amazing. I just knew that she liked the fact that I listened to Arctic Monkeys and Lana Del Rey most of the time.

Actually, I noticed that there was a tiny bit of Aeryn in everything I did. Almost like how pink wouldn't be called pink without white, everything was just almost terrible when she wasn't around.

As I entered the lounge, my eyes fell on a particular person, and I froze on the spot.

"Hi, babe. You look happy to see me." A girl with chestnut brown hair in waves and brown warm eyes greeted me with a smile. She walked up to me.

"Lucille?" I asked, coming back to reality. A slow smile drew on my face.
