Kabanata 2

As I looked around, I saw I was lying on a big, soft bed covered with smooth sheets. The room was filled with expensive looking furniture that felt far away from my usual life.

Golden decorations were everywhere, from the shining light hanging from the ceiling to the wooden furniture. A large painting of a landscape hung on one wall, and heavy curtains covered tall windows.

"Nasaan ako?" I whispered, my throat dry.

I swung my legs over the side of the bed, my bare feet sinking into the thick carpet. My mind raced as I tried to remember how I got here. The last thing I could recall was a strong grip on my arm and a sweet-smelling cloth, then everything went black.

The door looked inviting, but fear held me back. I pressed my ear against it, trying to listen for any sounds outside, pero katahimikan ang naririnig ko.

A large veranda filled with potted plants and furniture, overlooking a lush garden bathed in warm sunlight. It looked like something from a magazine, a place of wealth.

But the beauty of it all made me feel more scared. Sino ang nagmamay-ari nito? Bakit ako narito?

Just as I was about to step onto the veranda, the door swung open, and a tall man in a neatly pressed suit stepped inside. He looked calm, but something about his expression made me uneasy.

"Good afternoon," he said, his voice smooth but distant. He carried a tray with a covered plate and a glass of juice. "I brought you something to eat."

"Sino ka? Anong ginagawa ko rito?" I asked, stepping back.

"You need to eat. Kanina ka pa hindi kumakain," he replied, ignoring my questions.

"I want to know why I'm here!" I pressed, desperation creeping into my voice.

He set the tray down on the small table beside the bed and straightened up, his face expressionless.

"You'll be taken care of. Just eat."

Magkahalong takot at pagtataka ang naramdaman ko. "Please, just tell me what's going on!"

He didn't answer, instead turning to leave the room. My heart raced as I called after him.

"Teka! Hindi mo pa sinasagot ang tanong ko!"

But he simply closed the door behind him, leaving me alone again. I stared at the tray, feeling helpless.

"Sabihin mo, sinong boss mo?!"
