Chapter 13: The Conference

The conference took place in a large hall, filled with people from various fields. Inseong and Jaeyoon arrived together with the rest of the friends, but Inseong could feel the tension building up. Every step brought him and Jaeyoon closer to moments that might change their relationship.

As they entered the hall, an atmosphere of excitement filled the air. Colorful booths, intriguing lectures, and live music combined to create a sense of innovation and renewal. Inseong couldn't ignore the excitement radiating from the place, but Jaeyoon looked somewhat hesitant.

"Are you okay?" Inseong asked, watching Jaeyoon look around.

"Yes, I'm fine," Jaeyoon replied, but Inseong recognized his expression. "It's just... a lot of people here."

"Let's go check out one of the booths," Inseong suggested. "It could be fun."

"Alright," Jaeyoon agreed, and they started nurturing the connection forming between them.

Throughout the day, they wandered between booths, met new people, and attended interesting lectures. Inseong enjoyed the variety, the possibilities the conference offered, but also the time spent with Jaeyoon. He felt the distance between them slowly melting away.

After several hours, they found themselves at a unique booth that looked especially interesting. There, they listened to an explanation about new technologies that could change many lives. The presenter spoke enthusiastically, and Inseong was captivated, but Jaeyoon seemed distracted.

"What do you think?" Inseong asked, turning to Jaeyoon.

"I'm not sure if it's that important," Jaeyoon replied, looking around. "I'm mainly wrapped up in my own thoughts."

"What are you thinking about?" Inseong asked, moving closer to him.

Jaeyoon took a deep breath. "About us," he said. "About what we did, about what might happen."

Suddenly, one of their friends - Chani appeared, inviting everyone to sit in one of the special areas. "Hey, come sit! We have time to chat," he called.

Inseong and Jaeyoon decided to join, but the tension between the two continued. They exchanged glances, and Jaeyoon seemed hesitant to continue the conversation that had started earlier.

While the friends chatted about topics that interested them, Inseong felt Jaeyoon pulling away emotionally. He didn't want to miss the opportunity to understand what was happening between them.

"Jaeyoon," Inseong said, trying to reach out and touch Jaeyoon's arm, "you need to be honest with yourself. What do you really want?"

"I don't know," Jaeyoon answered, avoiding Inseong's gaze. "I'm afraid everything will fall apart."

"You can't lose what we have just because of fear," Inseong replied, biting his lip, feeling the pressure intensify.

"And if it destroys everything?" Jaeyoon asked, his gaze intense.

"I'm willing to take the risk," Inseong answered, holding Jaeyoon's hand.

That moment was crucial. The friends around them seemed engrossed in conversation, but Inseong was focused on his words. He felt they were close to a breakthrough.

"Maybe we should talk about this alone, later," Jaeyoon said, hitting the table with his fist.

"Okay," Inseong agreed, his mind springing to action.

The games and lectures continued, but Inseong knew that this conversation was only the beginning. The conference was an opportunity for them to confront their emerging feelings, not just the new technologies.

At the end of the day, as they stood at the entrance to the hall, Inseong felt it was his chance to talk to Jaeyoon. "Jaeyoon, I want us to talk about it now."

Jaeyoon paused for a moment, looking back. "Okay," he agreed, "but not here."

Inseong nodded, and they left the hall, their hearts preparing for a conversation that could change everything. What would happen when they finally reached deep into their hearts and discussed what they truly felt?

The sun was setting, and the air filled with a cool breeze, a sign that their conversation was about to begin.
