As they hid from the constable, Isabella noticed the hourglass peeking out of Ava's coat pocket.
"What's that?" Isabella asked, her curiosity piqued.
Ava hesitated, but William gave her a shrug. What could go wrong at this point? "We found it in my grandma's attic," Ava explained. "And... well, it did this." She gestured around them, indicating the whole Victorian London problem.
Isabella's eyes sparkled. "Looks valuable. How does it work?"
"We don't know," William admitted. "It just... sent us here."
Henry crossed his arms. "Great. So you've got an artifact you don't understand, and now you're stuck."
"We're not stuck," Ava insisted, though the doubt was creeping in. "We'll figure out how to use it and go home. Simple."
Henry raised an eyebrow. "Right. And in the meantime?"
Isabella grinned. "In the meantime, you two need our help. Lucky for you, we're very resourceful."
William groaned. "Fantastic. We've got street urchins as tour guides."
"Oh, don't be such a snob," Isabella said cheerfully. "You'll learn to love us."
Ava couldn't help but smile. Something told her that these siblings were going to make this adventure a lot more interesting than she'd expected.
