I often wish I had never dreamt at all.
It exhausts me how so many people long for the world of dreams, while others, who have yet to experience it, crave the comfort of sleep.
But many dreams are strange and often make little sense. Some are just twisted memories from a childhood we'd rather forget, and if we're fortunate, they might offer more than a simple kiss on the cheek.
Then there are the nightmares—terrifying visions that linger in our minds. Surprisingly, these may not be the worst. The real torment comes from dreaming of someone we've lost, a missed chance that haunts us. Why must we be reminded of what could have been? What does it mean? Did I make a mistake? Unlike other dreams, these stick with us, making us think and overthink until we feel like screaming or pulling our hair out.
Yet, as we often hear, dreams are just meaningless thoughts, or so we are told.
