Christine got up from her seat after hearing a knock on the door.

Only one day had passed, but she didn’t feel any pain unlike yesterday, so she had no difficulty moving her body. It seemed that the close contact with Edgar had calmed the mana rampaging in her and helped her recover.

Being in contact with him was truly a ray of light to her.

“Just a moment.”

Christine tidied her clothes and opened the door.

Judging by the guild’s uniform he was wearing and the tense look on his face, it was clear that the man who came to see her was a low-ranking member of the guild. Judging by his physical characteristics, he seemed to be a chimera.

“Is something the matter?”

As soon as the door opened and her soft voice was heard, the man, Melkin, could not hide his agitation.

‘I can’t believe that Mr. Edgar, who has no contact with anyone but his clients, really brought a woman here.’

Judging by her appearance, she was definitely not a chimera. Chimeras usually had dark hair or dark green eyes, so they could be distinguished by their appearance.

The woman’s bright blonde hair and brilliant purple eyes were a color that a chimera could never have. For Melkin, who had always seen only chimeras that looked like him, Christine’s splendor was shocking.

He began to have no control over his personal fantasies, but then recalled who had brought her here. His spine grew cold, and his mind suddenly became clear.

“I am Melkin, of the Black Fang Guild. Mr. Edgar sent me. I will guide Miss Christine to where you’ll be staying.”

“Oh, that person?”

Christine smiled brightly and followed the man. She replied as if she was close to Edgar, and as expected, she saw the guild member tense up.

‘What on earth is Edgar in charge of in the guild?’

The more information she had about him, the better, since she would be able to be in contact with him and at the same time get a clue to break her curse.

Christine followed the man and asked, “Where is he now? I miss him.”

If she used a soft voice, most people would answer her questions. This low-ranking guild member, who seemed to be afraid of Edgar, was no different.

“Mr. Edgar is taking care of some work right now.”

“Where?”

“Mr. Edgar’s office is located on the west side of the hideout, where I will guide Miss Christine.”

“Ah, I see. Thank you.”

Christine followed him with a grin.

However, she did not forget to gather information, like an elite guild member.

‘The building I invaded in my previous life, and the one I stayed in overnight in this life, is on the east side. Edgar’s office is on the west side.’

As they went down the stairs, she could see the entire Black Forest through the large windows in the hallway.

As she knew, the Black Fang Guild was the wealthiest and most powerful of the three major guilds, and its hideout was as large as two villages combined.

Ordinary people living in Grand Duke Richard’s territory would not venture anywhere near the Black Forest, so they wouldn’t even dare to imagine that the guild had put together such a hideout based on the wealth they had amassed from all over the country.

“We need to walk a little further. The west side hideout is a little far from the main building.”

“I see. The garden is well-kept, so I won’t be bored while walking.”

The plants around the building were constant in size and looked good, as if someone was taking care of them.

Christine smiled harmlessly as she touched the lovely flowers. She swept her hair to one side as if it was interfering with her appreciation of the flowers, revealing her white neck.

“…”

Melkin deliberately looked forward and walked stiffly, fearing that he would make the mistake of staring her in the face.

Christine checked his reaction, which was as she expected, and quickly reached between the bushes to pick some berries. It was the fruit of the Ilvicus flower, which just eating one berry had a guaranteed contraceptive effect.

‘It’s been a long time since I stopped menstruating, but there’s no harm in being careful.’

She put one of them in her mouth and followed Melkin as if nothing had happened. This way, she would not suddenly become pregnant when she was not even healthy herself.

‘According to my research in my previous life, chimeras are unable to imprint, unlike the grand duke’s legitimate successors, so this should be enough.’

In fact, if she spent the night with someone who had inherited the blood of wolves, the thing she should be most worried about was not pregnancy but imprinting.
