The message reached me when I was already cruising by Dutch's all-white estate. His mansion stood out among the rest because it was the biggest and most protected property on the block. Paranoia led him to guard his residence with security cameras, a gate, guards, and rottweilers who looked monstrous. Still, my eyes spotted my entry into his home. There was a part of the gate on the left side and towards the back that was cracked. He probably wasn't in a rush to fix it because dogs would be waiting for intruders. I wasn't the average criminal. Dogs were the least of my worries.

After scoping out the exterior, I obliged Eden. The house with the red door was four houses down from his. Knowing she didn't want him to catch us only enticed me. She was terrified of Dutch being aware that she had "male friends" Ironically, I was eager for him to know. Shakur was telling me to expedite this and I was ready to do just that.

Checking my glove compartment, the 9mm sat dormant. My palm was itching, upon viewing it. I ignored the desire to grab it for now, locking it away to stop tempting myself. Anxiety plagued my insides, triggered by the weapon. I found myself growing paranoid and anxious. The faces of innocent people outside their homes turned malicious. I felt as though they were all glaring at me and taunting me. Instinctively, my hand went to unlock the compartment again when a knock on the window startled me. I flinched, looking up to find Eden with a glow around her head like an angel with a halo. In the middle of me tripping out, she somehow managed to remain sweet in the darkness. Her energy pulled me back to reality and reminded me where I was, and what I was doing.

Sitting up in the seat, I composed myself and unlocked the door for her. "Hey!" She slid inside with the warmest of smiles plastered on her face. The aroma of an elegant fragrance invaded my nose instantly. She smelled as good as she looked. I noticed something about her already. Eden was always well put together, as if she spent hours on perfecting the image daily. Even when she was dressed down and running errands, her hair and nails were always done. She didn't have a blemish on that beautiful face of hers. Eden was the epitome of high maintenance.
