As soon as our lips part, I realize that I've made a huge mistake, memories flood back into my mind. Jack and Hiccup were a thing; Tooth, sandman, North and Bunny were all my friends. Many, many memories flood back, including the ones where Pitch and Raven were fighting the guardians. They were never my friends, but my enemy.
She tricked me... Raven tricked me. They used me even... I fade out of my temporary trance and Jack smiles at me, "I knew you'd come to it."
Then the vision of Jack fades away and everything continues to the way it was after I fell. Hiccup is landing on the ground, he looks normal thank god. Jack lies on the ground still coughing uncontrollably. Hiccup throws his helmet to the ground and slides on his knees to Jack's side. Pitch just smiles.
"What's so funny Pitch?" I ask, trying to sound like I was moments ago. He looks over to me, "Now the next phase of our plan may begin." He lifts his hand and Jack, Hiccup, and Toothless start to float in the air as darkness surrounds all of us.
"What's the next phase?" I ask. He looks to the floating boys and dragon, "Make them like you, loyal friends who would do anything for us like it used to be."
All of a sudden I start to float as well, but unlike the boys, my throat felt tight. I couldn't breath. Everywhere around us was dark and grew colder by the minute. Jack and I could handle the cold, I'm not sure about Hiccup and Toothless though.
I need to find a way to open my throat, I'm going to pass out from lack of oxygen any minute now. I look to my left and see my staff floating, I concentrate and use my dark powers to pull it closer. It inches toward me then jumps back a few feet. I turn to Pitch and he shakes his head, "Tsk tsk, Jackie, dear Jackie. Don't try anything stupid now." He turns his attention back to the boys.
I focus back to my staff, it slowly comes to my reach. I reach out but a gray hand grabs my arm. I turn to see Pitch three inches away from my face, "I told you not to try anything. Now you'll have to join the gentlemen over here."
I can feel myself losing consciousness, I have to be quick. I use my strength to grab my staff and blast Pitch in the chest. He flies into the darkness, and we all drop to the ground. We appear in a different part of the city, it's where Jack and I died, the lake near Jaime's house.
I start gasping for air as I hit the ground, I feel alone so I do what everyone else does in this situation. "Jack? Hiccup? Toothless? Are you alright?" I yell out to the forest. My back hurts like crazy as I sit up.
In the forest line, I see Toothless and Jack walk out. Jack stops suddenly but Toothless sees me and runs to me. He licks me enough for my clothes to be soaked. "Thanks for the bath Toothless." He just tilts his head in confusion.
"Sarcasm." He smiles and wags his tail. Jack still stands in the forest line. "Jack, are you alright?" I ask as nice as I possibly can. He still stands there, frozen almost. I walk up to him and put my hand on his shoulder, he moves away but looks at me. "Jack, I promise I won't hurt you or anyone else again. I will never let Pitch or Raven gain control again."
He sighs in relief, but still seems a little on edge, probably because he's missing his staff. "Where's your staff?" I ask. He points to the ice where his staff lies, but my staff is nowhere to be seen. I decide to try what I did in the shadows. I look within my mind and find my staff hidden in a tree limb directly above Jack.
I reach my hand out and my staff floats down into my hand. Jack looks at me in amazement, "How did you do that?"
"I don't know how to explain it. I was able to do it in the darkness, I'm able to do it here as well." He just nods. Toothless shifts on the ground uncomfortably, "What is it Toothless?" Jack looks around, "Wait, where's Hiccup?"
For the first time, we both notice a big hole in the ice, bubbles emerge from underneath. "Hiccup!" Jack screams. He runs to the hole and turns to me, "I have to save him, he'll drown!"
"Can you even swim?" I ask with a worried look.
Jack looks scared, more than when we're fighting Pitch or Raven. "I have to try..." Before I can stop Jack, he dives into the cold, unforgiving water.
