"...Damn...They're here." Beam turned his attention from his orientation chair toward several of his fellow first-year students.
At least ten students in their uniforms walked quickly towards Beam with anger on their faces.Beam smiled at them. "Hi, guys..."
None of them smiled back at Beam.
Beam whistled. OK then.
The first year students looked at their orientation leader.
"We're sorry, P'Forth, we're late. And, we're sorry we weren't wearing our SOTUS uniforms." One of them said.
Forth looked at his juniors. "You have to do 10 push ups for being late for SOTUS activities and another 10 push ups for not wearing your uniform." He says.
They nodded.
And, incredibly without Park needing to shout at them, they formed a line, placed their backpacks on the grass and carried out their punishment.
Just then, more students arrived, up to around a hundred people.
Forth looked at the students who were now carrying out their punishment and then looked at Beam.
Beam smiled at Forth. "Yes, P'Forth?"
"Why are you just standing?" Forth asked.
"Owh? Did I make a mistake? What did I do to honorably get punished? For coming to SOTUS on time or doing my job perfectly? Which reminds me... You should check their autograph book." Beam said as politely as possible.
Forth's orientation team did a standing ovation for Beam inside their heads.
And, then they stared at Forth, waiting for his next move.
Forth had no change in expression. He simply said coldly, "For your disrespect towards your Faculty."
Beam flashes. "Oh? Am I?"
Forth nodded. "No matter how our Faculty is, never say that it is inferior to others." He says. "I don't even need to mention how rude you were to your seniors when you started bragging about yourself and who you are."
Beam flashes.
"The past is the past. We respect history---not you as an individual but Engineering students are a team." Forth continued. "You fail because you see yourself as one person, not part of a team."
Beam flashes. She looked at Forth with her clear eyes. His eyes were still sparkling with excitement.
"Yeah?"
Forth nodded. "Yeah."
Silence.
Okay. Every year there is always a rebel, so...
Beam flashes. "Okay then. I will carry out the punishment." He nodded politely.
Beam said what?
Even Forth himself couldn't believe what he heard. He just agreed? After that damn long speech?
"What do you have for me to do?" Beam asked. He looked at Forth with a smiling face, waiting for his punishment.
