The flatline sound feels like Illumi's needle piercing my skull over and over and over again. My head had stopped throbbing but now mu body was cold, numb almost.

I look down at the bed, Alluka's lifeless body lying there motionless. "A..Alluka? Nanika?" My eyes well up with tears again as I grasp Alluka's hand in my own, hers now unnaturally cold. "..please..." My voice comes out as nothing but a whisper, her hand falling from mine, I lean down and kiss her on the forehead.

"Please come back. You're all I have Alluka...please..."

"Killua, we have to-" Nezu starts to talk but I cut him off.

     "Get out."

     "Killua I know you-"

"GET OUT!" When those in the room just stand there I begin to repeat myself. "Get out! Get out! Get out! Get out!" Eventually, when my voice is hoarse again, the adults exit the room, leaving me and my sister alone.

"Alluka..." I rub my hand down her cheek. "I was supposed to protect you... I just found you and now you're gone again..." I grab her hand and hold it up to my face. "You shouldn't have had to leave. You should still be here..."

I hug her lifeless body to mine. "I'm so tired Alluka...I want to sleep too. Maybe I'll meet you soon...I betrayed my promise to you. I hate myself."

I sit there for what feels like hours when the door opens again, I prepare myself to yell the person out until I see that it's Present Mic. Sensing no danger, I look back down at Alluka, cradling her closer to me, some sense of protectiveness still in my body despite her not being here anymore.

"She didn't deserve this..." My voice is soft, defeated almost.

Mic looks surprised at me talking to him but he nods. "She didn't." He agrees.

"It should've been me." My lip quivers and sobs wrack my body, I hug her tighter.

"It shouldn't have been either of you...If everything went right, then both of you would be together in your world now..." I hear him moving around the room. "But things don't always go according to plan..."

I look up at him, seeing his eyes rimmed red, as if he'd been crying too. I divert my eyes back to Alluka...

"She was my little sister, I should've been able to protect her... I failed."

Mic shakes his head, tears falling from his eyes too. "No...No you didn't." He gives me a shaky smile. "Your sister was able to live her life safely, because you wished both of you here, and you protected her from your brother."

"But I couldn't protect her in the end...she still....she still died."

Mic nods. "Yeah...she did... but did you listen to what she said? She lived a long life, a good life." He smiles at me, "You know, me and Aizawa looked into her, we wanted to know about the girl who'd be saving our lives...She helped so many people, Killua. So many... She was a doctor...a quirk less doctor. But she was renowned. And she didn't spend her money on anything for herself. She donated to charities for quirk less people and animals... She helped in food kitchens and she took in so many foster kids that I question how she even lasted this long." I let out a watery chuckle at that, sucking in a breath after and smiling down at Alluka.

"She was only able to do this because she felt fulfilled. She wanted you to experience the same satisfaction with your life that she experienced in hers. And she didn't want you to feel like any of this was your fault, remember? You promised her. Don't break that promise Killua." He wipes his eyes and then gets up, about to leave.

"C...can we have a funeral for her?"

Mic smiles shakily at me, his eyes brimming with tears again. "Yeah kid, we can."
