It starts next month.
Classrooms grow busy
Books lay turned and battered
Students sit outside and in
Waiting for their friends.

She watches her friends
Having fun, smiling and laughing at the topic at hand
She sits far away, not wanting to disturb them
She knows she'll be a problem to them.

She watches her past friends walk on
Throwing nasty glares and starting rumors about her
One little mistake she made turned her friends against her.

She watches as he passes by, not ready to see him again.
He's happy, carefree and being with someone else, leaving her alone again.

She doesn't understand what happened
She's afraid to ask why it happened.
She just lets it happen and waits patiently to die.
She grabs at her hair
Sliding down the wall
Soft cries echoing through the bathroom
Escaping into the empty hall.

She watches everyone move past it; watches everyone move on.
She watches as her friends forget she existed all along
She waits as she fades away and out of everyone's mind.

I'm not ready for school.
It's gonna happen eventually
My name will be erased from everyone's mind
They'll set me free.
