The success of 'Greedy' gave Alessandra a newfound confidence and inspiration to keep writing. She'd been pouring herself into her music, finding new depths to explore as her journey continued. After everything she'd been through, heartbreak, healing, and growth, she wanted her next song to dive even deeper into the complexities of taking chances and the vulnerability that came with opening herself up again.
The song she was working on, titled 'Risk', became an emotional outlet for her, capturing the tension between the thrill of possibility and the fear of getting hurt. It was about letting herself be vulnerable, knowing she could get hurt, yet deciding that some things were worth the risk. She didn't realize it at first, but in many ways, the song was inspired by her feelings for Joe, the 'what ifs' and the pull she felt whenever he was around.
Joe had been there for every step of the journey. Supporting Alessandra and seeing her become this confident, independent person made him appreciate her even more. The spark of attraction he'd once brushed aside was now something he couldn't ignore, and the lyrics of 'Greedy' and now 'Risk' only heightened his awareness of his feelings. But Joe wasn't sure if he was ready to take that leap, especially given everything she'd gone through.
He feared losing the friendship they'd built and didn't want to disrupt her growth of her newfound happiness. So, he kept his feelings hidden, choosing to celebrate her successes from the sidelines, even if it meant wrestling with the pull he felt toward her.
When she was invited to perform at a local showcase, Alessandra decided to debut 'Risk' for the crowd. She was nervous, the song feeling like an open window into her heart, but Joe and Harlow were there to cheer her on. As she took the stage, her eyes found Joe in the crowd, and she felt a rush of warmth and confidence.
She started singing:
"Look at me now
Said I wouldn't do it, but I hunted you down
Know you had a girl, but it didn't work out
Know you bought a house, but you had to move out, and
I'm not proud
Guess I'm just scared of you shootin' it down
You can just talk, and I'll stare at your mouth
You could be bad, but I wanna find out and....."The lyrics poured out of her, raw and vulnerable, and as the song ended, she realized she'd never been more honest with herself. The crowd cheered, but her eyes stayed on Joe, who was looking at her with an expression she couldn't quite read.
After the performance, Joe pulled her aside, his expression serious. "Alé, that was.....beautiful," he said, his voice thick with emotion. "You put your whole heart into that song."
She blushed, feeling more exposed than she ever had. "Thanks, Joe. It means a lot that you're here for all this."
Their eyes met, and for a moment, the unspoken feelings between them hovered in the air, almost tangible. Joe took a deep breath, and it looked like he wanted to say something more. But instead, he smiled softly, patting her shoulder. "Keep writing, Alé. You're meant for this."
The rest of the night went by in a blur, but the feeling lingered. As she walked home, she thought about the 'Risk' she sang about. She had been brave in so many ways, embracing her independence, following her passion, and now, maybe, being open to the possibility of love again. She wasn't sure what the future held, but she was willing to take the risk if it meant living fully and authentically.
Author Twilight,
The song 'Risk' is actually Gracie Abrams 'Risk'. I absolutely love this song so much, also feel free to leave an song suggestions you want Alessandra to write. I also have written a few songs myself and I might add them in somehow.
