“...want to do first?” Dream asked, trying to ease the nervous energy buzzing between them. The familiar setting of his room, filled with gaming memorabilia and the soft glow of LED lights, provided a comforting backdrop, but the stakes felt higher than ever.

George took a moment to look around, his eyes landing on the gaming setup that had been a staple of their friendship. “How about we start with some warm-up games? You know, just to ease into the day before diving into anything serious?”

Dream chuckled, relieved that George was leaning into the familiar. “Good call. Let’s go with a classic then. Bed Wars?”

“Always a classic!” George replied, a spark of excitement lighting up his eyes. He settled into his chair, and Dream took his place at the keyboard, the playful banter flowing easily as they began the game.

As the match started, they fell into their usual rhythm, communicating seamlessly as they built defenses and strategized their attacks against other teams. Dream couldn’t help but steal glances at George, who was completely in the zone, his brow furrowed in concentration. There was something incredibly comforting about their friendship, a bond that felt both familiar and electric, now heightened by the uncharted feelings between them.

“Watch out, there’s someone coming from the left!” Dream shouted, his heart racing as he maneuvered his character to defend their base.

“Got it! I’ll take care of them,” George replied confidently, his fingers flying over the keys. They worked together seamlessly, laughter and lighthearted teasing punctuating their strategy.

The match was intense, filled with narrow escapes and near defeats, but they managed to pull off a stunning victory. Dream leaned back in his chair, adrenaline pumping through him. “Not too shabby, huh?”

“Not too shabby at all!” George laughed, his eyes sparkling. “I’d say our teamwork is still on point.”

Dream smiled, feeling the warmth of their camaraderie wrapping around him. “Okay, next round? Or do you want to take a break?”

George paused, his expression shifting as he turned to face Dream fully. “Actually, I think I’d like to talk about what we discussed earlier. You know, us.”

The words hung in the air, the playful atmosphere dissipating as Dream felt a knot of anticipation tighten in his stomach. “Yeah, I think that’s a good idea,” he said, nodding slightly. “We should talk about where we’re headed.”

George took a deep breath, clearly gathering his thoughts. “I want to be honest with you, and I hope we can talk about this without any pressure. I care about you, and I don’t want to ruin what we have.”

Dream nodded, feeling the seriousness of the moment. “I feel the same way, George. Whatever happens, I want us to be able to talk about it.”

“I’ve been thinking a lot about how we define our relationship,” George began, his eyes locking onto Dream’s with an intensity that made his heart race. “I know we’re friends, and that’s a solid foundation. But I also feel this… connection that I can’t ignore.”

Dream swallowed hard, his pulse quickening as he processed George’s words. “I’ve felt it too. It’s like there’s this unspoken bond between us that goes beyond friendship.”

George nodded, a flicker of relief crossing his face. “Exactly! And I’m terrified, but I think it’s something we should explore. I just… I want to make sure we’re both on the same page.”

“Me too,” Dream replied, feeling a rush of warmth at the prospect of exploring their feelings. “I want to take this step with you, but I also want to move at a pace that feels comfortable for both of us.”
