The sun filtered through the curtains as Dream and George lay in bed, their bodies tangled together. The morning light cast a warm glow over them, and Dream could hardly believe how right it felt to wake up beside George. He had never anticipated that they would take this leap together, but here they were, sharing something beautiful.
As Dream traced small patterns on George’s arm, he felt a wave of contentment wash over him. The soft rhythm of George’s breathing soothed him, but soon enough, the weight of reality began to settle in. They had shared a kiss, a moment that changed everything, but there was still one thing lingering on Dream’s mind.
“What are we going to tell the others?” Dream asked, his voice low and slightly hesitant.
George opened his eyes, blinking a few times before focusing on Dream’s face. “I was wondering the same thing,” he replied. “I mean, they’re going to notice something’s different, right?”
“Yeah,” Dream sighed, running a hand through his hair. “I just… I want to tell them, but I’m also nervous about how they’ll react. What if they think it’s just a phase?”
“Or worse, what if they make it awkward?” George added, his brow furrowing slightly.
Dream nodded, understanding all too well the fears that hung in the air between them. They both valued their friendships deeply, and the thought of any tension made him anxious. “But we can’t hide it forever, can we? We’ve crossed a line, and it feels too good to keep it a secret.”
“Right,” George said, his expression softening. “I just want to make sure we handle it the right way. They’re our friends, and I don’t want to jeopardize that.”
Dream sat up, the sheets slipping down as he turned to face George more fully. “How about we tell them during the next group stream? We can make it casual, and if they react well, then great. If not, we’ll figure it out.”
“Sounds like a plan,” George replied, a hint of excitement creeping into his voice. “Just… promise me you’ll be there with me? I don’t want to do this alone.”
“Always,” Dream said, a reassuring smile breaking across his face. “We’re in this together.”
Later that day, they prepared for the stream, an undercurrent of anticipation building as the clock ticked closer to their scheduled time. Dream and George joined their friends in the group chat, the familiar faces of Sapnap, Karl, and Wilbur appearing on their screens, their usual banter filling the virtual room.
“Hey, you two!” Sapnap exclaimed, grinning widely. “Ready to get wrecked in some Bed Wars?”
“Always,” George replied, trying to mask the flutter of nerves in his stomach.
“Let’s do this!” Dream chimed in, feeling the adrenaline start to kick in as they launched into the game.
As they played, laughter echoed through the chat, but Dream felt a weight in the pit of his stomach. He exchanged glances with George, both of them silently acknowledging the moment they had to share their news.
After a few rounds of gaming, Dream decided it was time. “Alright, guys,” he said, taking a deep breath to steady himself. “We need to talk about something important.”
The playful atmosphere shifted slightly, and the others looked at them with curiosity. “What’s up?” Wilbur asked, raising an eyebrow.
Dream felt George’s hand brush against his under the table, a reassuring gesture that grounded him. “So, um… George and I… we’re kind of… together now.”
Silence fell over the group as Dream’s words hung in the air. He glanced at George, who wore an anxious smile, and then back at their friends, who were processing the information.
Karl was the first to break the silence. “Wait, like together together? Like, dating?”
“Yeah, that’s what we’re saying,” George confirmed, his voice steady despite the tremor of nerves that danced beneath the surface.
“Dude, that’s awesome!” Sapnap exclaimed, his eyes lighting up with excitement. “You guys are like, the ultimate power couple! This is amazing!”
Dream felt a rush of relief wash over him at Sapnap’s enthusiastic response, and George’s smile widened, his tension visibly easing.
“That’s so cool,” Karl chimed in, his expression genuine. “I always thought you two had a thing. It’s great to see it’s official now!”
Wilbur nodded in agreement. “Yeah, this is a huge deal. I’m really happy for you guys.”
The warmth of their friends’ support wrapped around Dream and George like a comforting blanket. The anxiety that had built up in Dream’s chest began to dissipate, replaced with a swell of happiness.
“Thanks, guys,” Dream said, smiling broadly. “It feels good to finally share it.”
George’s hand found Dream’s again, fingers interlocking, and Dream felt a rush of warmth spread through him. It was one thing to be together privately, but sharing it with their friends made it feel more real, more valid.
As they resumed playing, Dream couldn’t help but steal glances at George, who looked undeniably happy. It was a new chapter for them, one filled with love and support. They exchanged smiles, the unspoken bond between them solidified by the acceptance of their friends.
Later in the stream, they took a break, and the conversation shifted to lighter topics. Sapnap, ever the jokester, began teasing Dream about his gaming skills. “So, now that you’re dating George, does that mean you’ll actually start playing better? Or will he have to carry you forever?”
“Hey! I’m getting better!” Dream protested, laughing along with the others.
George chuckled, leaning into Dream’s side. “Don’t worry; I’ll make sure to coach him.”
As the banter continued, Dream felt a surge of gratitude for his friends. They were supportive and accepting, making the weight of their revelation feel lighter. Sharing this part of their lives with them was a relief, and it reaffirmed the bond they all shared.
Once the stream ended, Dream and George lingered for a moment, soaking in the aftermath of their announcement.
“That went better than I expected,” Dream admitted, still riding the high of their friends’ reactions.
“Yeah, me too,” George replied, a playful grin on his face. “I can’t believe we waited so long to tell them.”
Dream leaned against the wall, feeling a sense of calm wash over him. “I’m really glad we did. It feels good to be honest with them and with ourselves.”
George stepped closer, his expression softening as he looked up at Dream. “Thank you for doing this with me. I was so nervous.”
“Me too,” Dream confessed, the vulnerability in George’s eyes drawing him in. “But I’m glad we’re in this together.”
With a shared smile, they leaned in, their lips brushing softly against one another in a gentle kiss. It was a sweet, lingering moment that conveyed everything they had yet to say. The kiss was filled with promises of understanding and love, their connection deepening in that simple act.
“Whatever happens next, I’m excited to face it with you,” George said, his voice a quiet whisper, eyes sparkling with hope.
“Me too,” Dream replied, feeling a warmth spread through him. “Together.”
As they stepped into this new chapter of their lives, they knew they would face whatever came their way—together, hand in hand.
