Cash watched from a distance as Brian got out of his car at the entrance of the park. There were so many people out, but she could spot him anywhere. He had been sending her mixed signals for a couple of weeks and although she was annoyed, she couldn't help but look at him.
"Boo," Breezy said, sitting next to her and snapping her fingers in her face. "What you doing?"
"...Nothing."
"Yeah okay," she said. "You want this drink?"
Cash took it without even looking, watching as a few people spoke to Brian as he made his way past the tents.
"Are you stalking that man?" Shay asked.
"Who is that girl touching him?" Cash asked. B and Shay giggled.
"You so gone," B said. Cash rolled her eyes.
"Like either one of y'all can talk."
"When is the food gonna be done!" Deja yelled out of nowhere. Cash rolled her eyes. "Corey!"
"What, D?" Corey snapped, turning from the grill.
"Hurry up."
"Calm your hungry ass down."
Everyone laughed as Deja and Corey began to clown each other like they always did. Cash hadn't realized she was still watching Brian until he smiled at her. She thought she was tripping until he began to walk towards their tent. She sat up straight and smoothed her hair down over her shoulders.
"What's up, Brian?" Chris said, speaking to him first. Cash blushed as he kept his eyes on her for a minute before speaking to Chris and the rest of the guys.
"Hey," Cash said, just above a whisper as he sat next to her on the table. Since she was seated on the bench, she had to look up at him.
"You look good," he said. Cash bit her lip.
"Thanks."
"Um," he said, licking his lips. Cash turned towards the table and put her elbows on it but kept her head turned towards him. She didn't care who saw her flirting right now. She was determined.
"Um what?" she asked, with her eyebrow raised.
Brian leaned over and touched her hair. "You keep looking at me like that, I might have to take you down," he said.
"Let's go," she said. He looked at her and laughed. "I'm serious."
"I see. How old are you again?"
Cash rolled her eyes. "You know I'm 17."
"Um. You think you grown?"
"I been grown for a long time." Cash sighed, turning back towards her people. She could tell he was trying to play games. It was the second time he'd asked about her age. He was a senior when she was a sophomore. She had no idea why he was acting like he was so much older than her. "You scared obviously."
