Halloween Special

Chapter 3

Adrien's high came crashing down when he realized that HE was the reason why his Princess was crying. How could he have let this happen? He needed to talk to her immediately. However, all the boys were here, how could he talk to her without them noticing? This was a disaster, and he had to fix it. 

"Earth to Adrien," said Nino, as he waved a hand in front of Adrien's face. 

"Huh? What?" As Adrien looked up, he saw how his friends shared the same concerning look.

"You just blacked out there, dude."  

"Oh, um, I was just thinking whether we should have a video game competition or go get some snacks, so we can officially kick off the start of the BRO CAVE-OVER WEEKEND!" as he got up to lift the mood. 

"VIDEO GAMES!" they all repeated, happily. 

"Dude, you and I should go get the snacks, while they set up!" Nino suggested.

Adrien agreed and told Nino to keep quiet, since they were going to walk past Gorilla's door. 

"Soooo?" whispered Nino. 

"So what?" 

"You know exactly what I mean."

Nino always did that to him, and it always reminded Adrien of how Alya was with Marinette. 

"Don't worry. No one is in the kitchen, since the staff leave when father leaves. I do have some hidden snacks in the pantry like skittles, chips, drin-" 

"Dude, I'm not talking about the snacks." 

Adrien blinked. 

"What I'm talking about is when you zoned out." 

"Huh? Wasn't he done talking when I zoned out?" 

"I don't know how much of the story you heard but I think you missed the most important part." 

"What could I have possibly missed?" said Adrien sarcastically. 

"Luka's dating Marinette." 

Adrien's heart stopped. Time stopped altogether. 

How did this happen? How could HE let it happen? Why hadn't she told him?

Then the realization hit him like a bus. Marinette liked him but he was too blinded by Ladybug to notice. In his civilian form he would call her, 'just a friend' then check up on her as his hero form. He ruined both of his relationships with her. He ruined it by 'confessing' to Kagami and avoided her as Chat. His heart broke as he imagined how Marinette was feeling.  Adrien scolded himself. How could he have done this to Marinette? 

"Adrien, are you okay? You have been quiet for five minutes, now." 

"I have to fix this," Adrien said with determination on his face. 

"You're going to fix what?" 

"Let's hurry and take these snacks back to the boys." 

Meanwhile with the girls 

When Kagami and Marinette entered the room, the girls were shocked, so shocked that Alix dropped her plate of cookies. They couldn't believe their eyes. Why was she here? They had already heard how Adrien broke her heart. Their facial expressions filled with rage and Marinette quickly explained why Kagami was there. The girls were not the slightest bit convinced, so Marinette had to call an emergency girl's night meeting in her room. 

They were not convinced but decided it would be better to let it go. The bonus was this crossed off the first step of their plan. 

The real reason why Marinette invited Kagami was because she needed to get down to the bottom of what was going on with Kagami and Adrien. The day after she saw them together, he had a hurt look on his face, and they shared this really weird moment. 

The girls walked out of Marinette's room and made themselves comfortable on the couch.

"Let's kick off girls' night with a movie!" Marinette suggested happily. 

"Yay!" 

"Wait, before we do that. I want to clarify something," Kagami chimed. 

The girls turned toward Kagami and waited for her to continue. 

"I'm guessing you all know about Adrien and I, judging by your facial expressions. Marinette," Kagami said as she turned to face her, "I really tried to stay away from him, but I just couldn't resist. He asked me to be his girlfriend with a red rose. That day he said that he was tired of getting rejected by some girl, who kept sending him mixed signals. I comforted him and well, we've been happy ever since. Please forgive me." 

"Kagami, you don't need to apologize to me. I am very happy for you and Adrien. Besides, I'm dating Luka." 

Everyone in the room gasped the Alya said, "Girl! You didn't tell me! You have to tell us everything, right now!" 

"Well, we started dating two weeks ago. He walked me home after hanging out the whole day, and I kissed him on the cheek. Then I asked him if he wanted to be more than just friends. He said yes, then pulled me in for a kiss. I am so sorry I haven't told you all, I was just waiting for the right time." 

No one said a word. Alya, however, was freaking out! She wondered if her plan was going to work. Will they still be able to do it even though her friends are in different relationships. She shook her head then pulled out her phone to text in the group chat, 'We're still going to do the plan, nothing is getting in our way.' 

Marinette realized the day Kagami and Adrien got together, she had rejected Chat Noir with a similar rose. Then avoided her during patrol. Then it dawned on her. What if Adrien is Chat Noir? She started to slowly connect the dots, and they all clicked. Was she rejecting Adrien this WHOLE time? This was a disaster! At this point, Marinette wished she could use a lucky charm to fix her problem. 

The room remained silent. 

Meanwhile with the Boys 

When Adrien and Nino arrived in Adrien's room, all the boys were focused on their phones, except Luka who was writing something down on a piece of paper. Nino looked at his phone then called all the guys to talk outside of Adrien's room. He made Adrien talk to Luka, and with a little protesting Adrien sat down next to him and asked what he was doing. 

"I'm writing a letter to Chat Noir. I need to explain what happened the other day." 

Adrien rolled his eyes then said, "How are you going to give him the letter?" 

"Well, I was thinking Mari could give it to him, since they're friends," then Luka flipped the paper and wrote something in small letters. 

"Can I read the letter?" 

Luka looked up and gave Adrien a suspicious look, "Yes, just don't black out this time," then handed the letter to Adrien. 

All seemed normal about the letter, until Adrien flipped it over and read, 'This better be the last time you visit Marinette. Don't test me Chat Noir.' 

Adrien handed the letter back to Luka and paced around the room. Luka had no right talking to him that way. He was trying his best to stay calm, but just as he was about to say something the boys came back in. 

"Hey, dudes, we're back! What's with the angry faces?"

Adrien took a deep breath, then rubbed his eyes, "it's nothing to worry about, Nino." 

"Whatever it is, leave it behind. We have to spend the rest of this Bro Cave-over in a happier mood!" 

"How are we supposed to do that?" Luka asked. 

"BY HAVING A GAMING COMPETITION! WINNER GETS TWENTY BUCKS FROM EVERYONE!" 

All the boys ran to the couch and started fighting over the controller. That was until Adrien pulled out a box of controllers. They played and to no one's surprise, Kim won. Leaving everyone short of $20. Then they watched movies and at the snacks.
