Fall 12
"Clara!" I stopped in my tracks to the sound of Leann's voice stopping me from going into North Square. I turned my body towards her; a huge smile was plastered on her face.
"Yeah? Are you inviting me to hang out with you three?" I asked. Leann shook her head.
"No. It'll be just you, Clara! I want to show you something at the mansion, if you can! I can also have Ceci make you something to eat too!"
"You just said Ceci, making, and something to eat to a pregnant girl in the same sentence! I'm gonna make time for that!" I exclaimed; a look of disappointment was plastered on Leonel's face.
"W-why can't we join you?" He asked. Leann raised her eyebrows at Orland, giving him a distinct look as Orland looked at her quizzically before his eyes widened in realization.
"Oh! Right, right." Orland began, looking over at Leonel, who had his brows furrowed in confusion. He wrapped his arms around Leonel's shoulders, leading him into the west end of town.
"Ah, how about you and I hang out today, Leo? Just us guys! I also have some relatives in town whom I'd like you to meet."
"Uh...what was that about?" I asked suspiciously. Leann giggled, hooking her arm with mine. We started walking into the west end of town.
"I think it would do them some good to do boy things together! Just the two of them! And we can hang out, girl to girl!"
"Considering the fight yesterday, I'd be a little nervous to leave those two alone." I said with nervousness as Leann giggled.
"Don't worry! I think those two will get along just fine now!" She opened the door to the mansion.
"I'm home!" She exclaimed, Ceci gave us a curtsy.
"Welcome back, Miss Leann! And welcome, Miss Clara! May I take your jackets?"
"Yes, thank you, Ceci." Leann said as Ceci helped her out of her jacket. I had already taken my jacket off myself and handed it to Ceci.
"Thanks, Ceci." I said as she smiled at me.
"Is everything ready?" Leann asked. I looked over at my cousin. Ready? Did she mean our food?
"Yes, Miss! Everything is still in tact in the dining area, and the remaining preparations have been finished!" She gave Leann a wink as my cousin squealed in glee.
"Great! Come, Clara! I want you to see a project I've been working on!"
"Oh? Is it for the Norad art show?" I asked in excitement as Leann shook her head.
"Nope! It's something even better!" She opened the door to the dining area as I was greeted by a balloon arch with pink and blue balloons. Two giant balloon-modeled swans sat on the floor next to each end of the dining table. A few decorated table weights in the shape of swans, food, and wrapped gifts were seated on the table and Cammy, Sera, and Serena looked at me from their seats with smiles on their faces.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"Isn't it obvious?" Cammy asked as I stared at her blankly.
"It's a baby shower!" Sera exclaimed as I felt my face heat up.
"Wait, really?" I asked.
"Yes! Leonel stopped by the inn yesterday evening and told Orland that you two were keeping the baby. Orland then told me this morning, and...I've been working on the decorations since I learned! I invited Cammy and the twins before Mr. Barrett's class began. Uhm, it is true though, right?"
