READERS POV

"Time to get up." I heard someone say. It sounded like Professor Lupin but, surely all of this is just a dream.

"Come on now. Time to get up." I felt someone nudge me a little and I jolted awake.

"Sorry about that." I said. I sat up and then proceeded to stand up.

"Off you go. I can help escort you to the great hall. There is where you can find your cousin if you wish to." Lupin said and I smiled at him.

"Thank you again." I said.

"Nonsense. You do not have to say thank you so often you know. It is kind but, if you do that for anytime that someone helps you then for the next couple of months your tongue will fall out." Lupin said and smiled.

"Sorry about that. It is just a habit. I am having a hard time breaking it." I said and he smiled.

"That's quite alright." He said and smiled. He walked along my side into the massive castle like building.

"This place is beautiful." I said. It was very breathtaking. I have only seen something that looked like this in my dreams from the books I had read. All of which fairytales and right now they do not seem so make believe.

"Haven't experienced a place like it?" Lupin asked.

"No, I was trapped inside of my room in my parents' home. I never got to see much. They didn't even let me get past kindergarten when I was younger." I said.

"Your life sounds depressing." He said.

"Yeah, I suppose it does." I said and followed him into the great hall. There were so many kids that it made my anxiety act up. I wanted to reach out and hold onto something or someone but, I let my feet plant firmly on the ground as more people surrounded us all. Everything around me blurred. My vision was going in and out. I thought I was going to pass out. My hands got slightly damp. I started to sweat. My body began to sway. I heard a loud and booming voice but, I couldn't hear the words. I feel like I am going to pass out. I felt a hand on my shoulder. They put a little pressure on it and then squeezed it. When I looked to the side, I recognized that it was my cousin William.

"I know it is a lot but, everything will be okay. I promise. They have called your name though." He said and when everyone around me turned towards me I felt even more of the pressure.

"Don't fall it will be embarrassing." He whispered to me, and I realized he wasn't wrong. This is so weird.

"Y/N Y/L/N come up here deary." The woman said and she was holding a hat up. Surely her arm must be tired. Why wouldn't she just use a spell to hold it up for her. I made my way over to the chair next to her and sat on it. The hat hovered over my head and the grumbling started. It mumbled to itself.

"Who are you?" The hat asked me, and I responded with my name.

"I know that much but why are you here." It asked. I don't know if I should say anything.

"Alright then. Ravenclaw it is." It said and before I stood to move away it mumbled something else.

"No. No that is not right. Hufflepuff... No, still not right. Your nerves are clouding my judgement child." The hat said and I looked at the woman next to me who had her lips puckered and she was looking to an older man with a white beard.

"Slytherin. That mind when not scared is dark." The hat said and I waited another moment before the hat yelled next. I guess I am a Slytherin whatever that means. A blonde boy approached me and grabbed my arm.
