Prologue: Monika's World. A song of reality

(Don't expect much with this chapter. It's gonna be a short one)

(Oh and I do not own the song "Your Reality" which was made for Doki Doki Literature Club)

"Every day, I imagine a future where I can be with you"

"In my hand is a pen that will write a poem of me and you"

"The ink flows down into a dark puddle"

"Just move your hand, write the way into his heart"

"But in this world of infinite choices"

"What will it take just to find that special day?"

"What will it take just to find that special day?"

Monika had been thinking that very thought for as long as she could remember

Yet she can't even remember how long it was since then

Had it been Months? Years? Decades even?

She had lost track a long time ago

And yet that wasn't what drove her to near insanity

"Have I found everybody a fun assignment to do today?"

"When you're here, everything that we do is fun for them anyway"

"When I can't even read my own feelings"

"What good are words when a smile says it all?"

"And if this world won't write me an ending"

"What will it take just for me to have it all?"

This was another thing that fueled her stress

This odd power that could alter her world of what she thought was a game simulation

She had always felt trapped

Wanting to escape her reality

But it wasn't like her friends could help since they didn't know about her power

And the MC that always showed up was like a blank person with no personality

Yet she felt that no matter how hard she tried she'd never be free

"Does my pen only write bitter words for those who are dear to me?"

"Is it love if I take you, or is it love if I set you free?"

At one point however, she did meet someone new

A knight from long ago who somehow managed to convince her that her world wasn't what she thought it was

Turned out what she thought was a video game world turned out to be an actual planet built like a computer core

It relieved her that she did have a real reality, yet she wondered why she was stuck here

On this little planet with only three people and a blank person

And who orchestrated this whole fasade

The knight did ask if she wanted to leave, but she turned it down

She may have felt like she was being deleted, but given what she learned, she wanted to stay and maybe figure that out

Besides, her three friends, Sayori, Natsuki, and Yuri

...were all she had, even if her horrible powers kept killing them against her better judgment and will

So the knight left alone leaving Monika to this mystery

Yet that didn't help her stress as all this looping continued

And each time she found herself in her spaceroom, she cried alone wondering if this cycle would ever break

And maybe, just maybe, either take her power away, destroy her world, or at Monika's most insane limit, kill her

"The ink flows down into a dark puddle"

So here Monika sat, waiting and hoping that one day, this scripted reality would end

"How can I write love into reality?"

End it all or to her hope, bring about a new reality

"If I can't hear the sound of your heartbeat"

Yet when one door closes another one is bound to open

"What do you call love in your reality?"

But in Monika's case...

"And in your reality, if I don't know how to love you"

It all started with a whistle...

"I'll leave you be"
