It was the night before the festival
But Monika knew all to well that the festival wouldn't happen as she walked home
Because either Sayori hangs herself, or if that's already happened, then Yuri will stab herself in the chest after confessing to the blank MC around this time
But thankfully no one has passed yet given it was a fresh start
But Monika kept fearing for that moment to happen
Yet she felt her powers acting in her stead as she kept hearing what felt like another one's voice each time
But strangely, Monika hadn't heard the voice the whole week which comforted her
In fact, she hadn't heard the voice in for what she could assume was nearly a full year... though she couldn't tell anymore...
But her thoughts kept worrying that her powers would eventually lead to Sayori's death again
She had tried to warn her friends about this before, but they never believed her cause they thought she was pulling their leg
They never believed her on her problems yet followed her when it came to the club they had
It drove her mad
Enough that she gave it up years ago, though when exactly she couldn't remember
As she reached a lamppost, she looked up to the sky as sunset gave an orange glow to the area
Yet her mind kept thinking about the troubling worry
Monika Mind: How much longer am I supposed to suffer like this?! How many more time do my friends have to suffer like this?!
She started to cry again as her tears glistened in the dusk sun
Monika's Mind: I... I just wish I could escape this cruel reality! ... Please... just once... let me escape...
She let out more tears as the sun continued to set
But due to her sobbing, she failed to hear a strange sound
A sound that she never heard before
But as she kept crying, she also didn't hear the sound getting louder and louder
And then...!
This snapped Monika out of her tears as she heard a loud whistle echoing nearby
Then as it continued blaring, she also heard the sound of chuffing and puffing pass by her as she saw what looked like a train near the rail line that ran by the houses, and the school
But this left Monika stunned
Monika Mind: Was that a train?! It can't be! I thought no trains ran through here?! But this wasn't my doing! ... Was it?
She then ran for what she knew was a rail station nearby
(Train Station)
She arrived at the little station to which she didn't usually visit given her cycle of torment
