IT HAD BEEN THREE DAYS. it had been seventy-two whole hours since arabella had woken up in drew's sheets and she had hated each and every single hour out of those seventy-two. she couldn't sleep the next three nights, tossing and turning in bed as she thought about the 'explicit' scene they were to shoot on friday.
she didn't admit to herself that she hadn't slept as good in a very long time as she did with drew. a very, very long time. her sleep was usually filled with dreams, mostly normal ones - achieved after months of therapy since cameron's death, but nightmares still affected her sleep seizing every opportunity they got to do so.
her and drew had practiced and read through their lines a lot in those three days, they had spent every single available hour practicing lines and then going through the most critical scenes for their characters. he even showed her the script of queer when they had pulled an all-nighter to practice, and arabella was envious that he had gotten a masterpiece like it to work on and also that he got to work with daniel craig.
arabella realised that they had been spending too much time together when emma called her and he was there too. her sister called her at the most random times of the day, always having a half hour conversation on video call every day was kind of their thing. she remembered picking up the call when her and drew were practicing for a scene, her sister insisting on speaking to him and he did.
it was three in the morning, and he was in her room. it was three in the morning, he was in her room and he was speaking to her sister. it was three in the morning, he was in her room, he was speaking to her sister and that was the exact moment she realised that she had been spending all of her time with drew starkey, the same man she couldn't stand a few days ago.
he left a few minutes later while her and emma continued to talk, emma asked her what was going on with him, she asked if they were on good terms, she asked why arabella hadn't told him that he was this handsome, she asked why she bothered fighting with him when he was so pretty that if they had kids together they'd probably win mr. and ms. universe. arabella told her to shut up about him, but emma didn't.
that half an hour was all about drew. drew's hair, drew's clothes, drew's face, drew's smile, drew's everything. even after her sister stopped talking about him, she saw herself bringing him up in the conversation, even if it was just to talk shit about him - the points were the most precise details about him but emma didn't bother to speak her conclusion about how much arabella noticed him.
that was twenty-hour hours ago.
right now, arabella was tossing and turning in bed, not being able to sleep for some goddamn reason she couldn't understand herself when her mind kept straying to the scene they were to shoot the coming evening. she picked her phone up from the nightstand, opening the document of her script and reading the scene.
she gasped when she reached to the exact part that they had to film tomorrow. she was still nervous even though she had read it at least twenty times, practicing the lines before it around five times with drew. she didn't know why she was so nervous when she had filmed scenes like these in her previous movies or tv shows, this wasn't even that long as the other ones, but she was still a nervous wreck.
she heard a knock on her door and locked her phone before getting out of her blanket to go and open the door. she opened the door after turning on the lamp on her nightstand, it was madison with a very sleepy carlacia. "hey, can we crash? we left our keys with drew and we can't find him," carlacia's hand was over madison's shoulder, who was supporting her in walking.
