Castiel looked at Dean, Dad and me.

Sam staggered a bit, standing behind Castiel.

Dad knelt to the floor. "Well, all right then. Is this good, or you want the whole 'forehead to the carpet' thing?'" He looked at Dean and me. "Guys?"

Dean, Sam and I started to kneel.

"Stop," Castiel told us. "What's the point if you don't mean it? You fear me. Not love, not respect. Just fear."

"Cas..." Sam trailed off.

"Sam, you have nothing to say to me," Castiel told him. "You stabbed me in the back." He looked at Dad. "Get up."

"Cas, come on," I told him. "This isn't you."

"The Castiel you knew is gone," Castiel told us.

"So, what, then?" Dean asked. "Kill us?"

"What a brave little ant you are," Castiel told him. "You know you're powerless. You wouldn't dare move against me again. That would be pointless. So I have no need to kill you. Not now. Besides... once you were my favorite pets before you turned and bit me."

I shook my head barely. "Who are you?"

"I'm God," Castiel told us. "And if you stay in your place, you may live in my kingdom. If you rise up, I will strike you down. Not doing so well, are you, Sam?"

Sam was breathing heavily, sweating. "I'm fine." He cleared his throat. "I'm... fine."

"You said you would fix him," Dean told him. "You promised!"

"If you stood down, which you hardly did," Castiel told us. He looked at Sam. "Be thankful for my mercy. I could have cast you back into the Pit."

"Cas, come on," I told him. "This is nuts. You can turn this around. Please!"

"I hope for your sake this is the last you see me," Castiel told us, disappearing, leaving.

Dad, Dean, Sam and I looked around, at each other for a long moment.

Sam's nose started to bleed.

"Sam, you okay?" Dean asked.

Sam fell to the floor, cutting his hand on some broken glass.

We had to drag the damaged Impala back to Dad's house, outside in the salvage yard.

Dean was inside, on his back, trying to push the roof back out with his boots. "Come on. Come on, baby!"

I walked closer with beer. "So, you fixing her or primal screaming?"

Dean got out of the Impala, taking a beer from me. "Ah, thanks. How's Sam?"

"He's still under," I answered. "But alive."

"Yeah?" Dean asked. "What about God part deux?"

"I got contact outs, so far diddly," I told him.

"And what exactly are you looking for?" Dean asked.

"Exactly," I told him. "What? Miracles, mass visions, trench coat on a tortilla? I don't know what I'm looking for."

"Ah, well, he'll surface."

"So, say we do suss out where 'new improved' flew off to..." I trailed off.

"Yeah?" Dean asked.

"The hell we plan to do about it?" I asked.

"I don't know, Ness," Dean told me. "I got no more clue than you do."
