"Jin," Jungkook began, his voice a low tremor, "We need to talk."

Jin, sprawled on the plush velvet couch, eyes glued to his phone, barely acknowledged him. "Yeah, yeah, I know," he mumbled, scrolling through a string of messages, his thumb moving with a practiced ease that seemed to mock Jungkook's growing anxiety.

"This is about us, Jin. Not your phone," Jungkook insisted, his voice edged with a desperation he tried to mask.

Jin finally looked up, his eyes a cold, calculating blue, a stark contrast to the warmth they usually radiated. "What's the point, Jungkook? We've been over this a million times."

"Because it's not over, Jin. It's not over until we talk about it," Jungkook countered, his voice rising, a tremor of anger shaking his words. "I'm tired of feeling like I'm the only one trying. I'm tired of your excuses, your lies."

Jin scoffed, a dismissive smirk playing on his lips. "Lies? What are you talking about?"

"You know exactly what I'm talking about," Jungkook challenged, his anger simmering beneath the surface. "The late nights, the constant phone calls, the sudden trips. It's all so obvious."

"It's just work, Jungkook. You know how demanding my job is," Jin retorted, his voice laced with a hint of annoyance.

"You're not even trying to convince me anymore, are you?" Jungkook's voice cracked, a raw vulnerability seeping into his tone. "You're not even trying to pretend."

Jin's eyes darted away, a guilty flush creeping up his neck. He knew Jungkook was right. He had been caught in a web of lies, his excuses growing thinner with each passing day. "It's not like that, Jungkook. It's nothing serious."

"Nothing serious? You're sleeping with someone else!" Jungkook's voice broke, the pain in his eyes mirroring the ache in his heart. "You're telling me it's nothing serious?"

"It's not what you think," Jin mumbled, his voice barely a whisper. "I just... I thought you didn't love me anymore."

Jungkook's gaze softened, a wave of sadness washing over him. He had always been the more emotionally invested one in their relationship, a fact that had become increasingly apparent in recent months. "Jin, you know that's not true. I love you. I always have."

"But you're always so busy, so distant," Jin whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I felt alone like I was losing you."

"I know I haven't been the best boyfriend," Jungkook admitted, his voice laced with remorse. "But I was trying, Jin. I was trying to make things work. I just... I needed you to tell me what was wrong."

"I was scared," Jin confessed, his voice barely audible. "I was scared of losing you. So I... I made a mistake."

"You made a mistake???" Jungkook echoed, his voice dripping with disbelief. "You cheated on me, Jin. You cheated on me because you were scared of losing me?"

"I'm sorry, Jungkook," Jin pleaded, his eyes filled with regret. "I know it's not an excuse. I just... I was so lost."

"Lost?" Jungkook scoffed, the bitterness in his voice evident. "You were lost in someone else's arms, Jin. You were lost in his touch, his laughter, his attention. You weren't lost, you were choosing HIM!!!." Jungkook spat out the words, each syllable laced with venom. Jin's hand instinctively went to his chest, as if to ward off the invisible blow.

The silence that followed hung heavy, thick with unspoken words and shattered dreams. Jungkook, his heart a leaden weight in his chest, went forward, his gaze fixed on Jin. He had tried so hard to hold onto their relationship, to bridge the growing chasm between them. He had been willing to overlook Jin's inconsistencies, and his excuses, attributing them to the pressures of their demanding lives. But now, facing the harsh reality of Jin's betrayal, he felt a wave of disillusionment wash over him.
