The red-hot charcoal heated up the silver grill.
As the red and white marbled beef was placed on top, a sizzling sound filled the room.
Lee Jeong-hwan, holding chopsticks like a hunter, waited for the meat to be cooked to an appetizing degree.
Min-yeong, who saw that, hit him on the back.
“If anyone saw you, they’d think you were starving!”
“I'm hungry.”
When Jeong-hwan pouts, Grandma Yeong-shim, sitting next to him, smiles broadly.
“Eat lots, eat lots!”
She said, stroking Jeong-hwan's jet-black hair.
“You have to eat a lot to grow tall.”
“Oh, you can stop growing up. Now I get goosebumps every time I see you.”
Hearing Grandma Yeong-shim's words, Jeong Yeong-ju added meat, saying that the arms should bend inward.
“Here, give him some more of the good meat. Generous. Don’t be too hard on him. At his age, he could even chew on rocks. Besides, today is Jeong-hwan’s party to celebrate his passing the exam with the highest honors.”
“If this continues, I feel like I’m going to end up chewing on rocks.”
Jinsoo, who was holding chopsticks, also interfered.
“Yeah. Don’t say anything. When I was young, I ate as much as Jeong-hwan.”
As Min-yeong opened her eyes, Jin-su turned his head back to the grill.
Grandmother Yeong-shim kept putting well-cooked meat on a plate for Jeong-hwan, who was a good eater, because she thought he looked pretty.
Jeong-hwan also ate the meat like a baby bird.
“By the way, Grandma Yeong-shim’s face has gotten a lot better. If we meet outside like this, I won’t be able to recognize her.”
“Right? My sister was really pretty and cute when she was little, but I don’t know what kind of hardships she went through. No matter how many times I ask her, she won’t answer.”
“You might need a little more time, Grandma, ah!”
Min-yeong put a small piece of wrapped meat into Grandma Yeong-shim's mouth.
Just then, the door opened wide and a man came in.
The man with the bushy beard around his mouth was Park Su-hyeon, the director of the Four Seasons Art Academy.
“Oh no, I’m late!”
“Director!”
As Soo-hyeon sat down and greeted Min-yeong, Jin-su, and Grandma Yeong-shim, Yeong-ju furrowed his eyebrows slightly.
“Why are you so late? Did they put up a banner the size of a door to announce that Jeong-hwan passed with the highest score?”
“Oh, you’re right. Lee Jeong-hwan from the Four Seasons Art Academy passed the Korean Arts High School exam with the highest honors! He chose a piece as big as a building, not just a door. Let’s take a look.”
Park Soo-hyun showed Min-young and Jin-soo a picture of the banner hanging on the building.
The banner was so large that it covered the entire wall of the four-story academy building.
“Oh my god. Did you really pick it like this? It’s not a composite?”
“If you had chosen such a large piece, it must have cost a lot of money.”
