as i exited parkers vehicle i felt the cold connecticut air hit me like a brick as i shut the door.
he came around to my side interlocking my hand with his as we walked towards the entrance.
once we were let inside parker immediately headed towards the bar to get us some drinks. i was never much of a drinker, he knows this yet he always insists on me drinking.
the last time i've drank comfortably and carefree was in high school, since then every time i have alcohol it's not enjoyable.
i sighed knowing this is how we would spend the next few hours and the remainder of our anniversary.
i never liked to admit it, but being in a party setting always brought me bad memories. memories from high school, from that night. the night i got sent away.

the team had decided to go out since we didn't have practice tomorrow. i was currently in my dorm room with all of my teammates gathered in my living room.
i was sitting next to julie, my long time best friend who also happens to be nika's girlfriend as nika was sent to bring katie.
we met katie through azzi and jana since they had a class with her. we all got along with her so it wasn't uncommon for her to join us when we went out.
once they finally came back after a few minutes we all settled for a little bit considering it was only 7 we didn't want to get there too early be get shit faced too soon.
after a bit nika suddenly speaks up aiming her question at katie who was talking to azzi.
"hey katie, was that your roommate back at your dorm? or was that a friend?" nika asks seemingly out of nowhere but katie answers regardless.
