Enjoy 💋I narrowed my eyes. "Unfinished business? You climb in here like a thief to finish business?"
He shrugged, leaning back against the window frame as if he belonged here. "I didn't need to knock, did I?"
I stepped closer, my grip tightening on the edge of my chair. "How did you even get up here?"
Without waiting for an answer, I moved to the window and my breath hitched. My eyes widened at the sight below—black cars, engines humming quietly, men scattered around, their gazes fixed on the building. Some stood with guns strapped to their sides, tracking every movement, as if this was their territory.
My voice shook with disbelief. "You came here with your men... and guns? You're just here to talk?"
Nevan didn't flinch. "I needed to make sure this conversation happened. You're not so easy to reach these days." His gaze was locked on me, dark and dangerous, and I could feel the weight of his presence.
I backed away, eyes narrowing. "I could call my brother."
His smirk deepened, turning darker, more sinister. "Do that. But we both know how that would end, don't we?"I crossed my arms, trying to steady my breath. "Does Alex know you're here?"
Nevan's smirk didn't waver. He took a step closer, his voice low and smooth. "No. He doesn't."
I swallowed hard, my pulse quickening. "Then why are you here?"
Nevan's eyes gleamed with a mix of mischief and something darker, something dangerous. He leaned in, voice a murmur that felt like a caress yet carried a warning.
"Because I needed to remind you," he said, his tone unwavering, "that I'm not a man who waits."
I forced myself to hold his gaze, refusing to let him see the tremor in my stance. "Remind me of what exactly?"
His lips curved into a slow, knowing smile. "That if I want something, no one—not even Alex—can stop me."
The room felt smaller, the walls closing in as his words lingered in the air, heavy and undeniable.
Nevan's eyes bore into mine with a smoldering intensity, as if he could see right through every word I wasn't saying. He moved closer, his presence an electric, dangerous force that wrapped around me. Each step was calculated, deliberate, a silent declaration that he would reach me, no matter the cost.
"Still pretending you're above all this, are we?" His voice was low, his words laced with a dark amusement that sent a shiver down my spine. "You act like there's a choice here... like you're not already mine."
I steadied my breath, forcing myself to look unaffected, though his proximity made it hard to think straight. "You don't get to decide what's mine to give," I countered, voice steady even as I could feel my pulse thundering. "And I'm certainly not yours."
