Chapter 8

"Maka?" Soul jumped up from the chair, beside her bed.
"Huh? W-what happened?" She asked, looking around.
"You're in the hospital, Maka. A witch attached you..."
"How long was I out?"
"Maka... You've been out for 10 years."
The heart monitor sped up, and she jumped up. "10 years?!" She screamed.
He chuckled. "No... You've been out a year." He said, walking over to the hospital bed.
"O-oh. I guess that's not too bad compared to a year..." She frowned.
"Maka... I've missed you so much..." He said, stroking her hair, and kissing her on the nose.
She blushed deeply.
"I have to call the others!" He said, pulling out his phone.

"So... Did you dream anything?" Liz asked.
"Oh... Uh... No...." She chuckled.
"Mhm... Okay. Do you remember what happened before?" Liz teased, and Soul shot her a look.
"Soul asked you out." Liz said, laughing.
"You said no..." She chocked out, and Makas eyes widened.
"Maka... It's not a big deal...." Soul said, walking over to the bed.
Maka grabbed Soul by the shirt, and kissed him deeply.
Everyone was stunned, and just slowly backed out.

"Avery! Go to bed!" Maka ordered her 16 year old son.
Avery stopped playing his electric guitar, and looked at Maka.
"Just put some headphones in..." He mumbled, rolling his red eyes that had naturally dark circles under them. He muffled his ratty blonde hair that stopped at his shoulders.
"You're going to wake your sister up..." Maka frowned, hoping that his only weakness would make him stop playing.
"Fine..." He sat down his guitar.
"Is dad awake?" He asked.
"No... and you're lucky he's a heavy sleeper."
"Dad wouldn't care... he's chill." He chuckled, scratching his knee that was accessible through the hole in his jeans.
"Just go to your room, alright? And don't smoke in there!" Maka snarled.
At that, Avery popped a cigarette in his mouth and lit it. "No smoking in my room. Got it."
Maka rolled her eyes. "Avery Evans... put it out!" She screamed.
"Mhm... yeah no." He laughed, puffing out the smoke.

"Mom... what's going on?" Erin, came in the door way, wrapped in a blanket too big for a petite 14 year old.
Avery quickly hid the cigarette behind his back.
Maka smirked. "Erin, why don't you hang out with your brother?"
"Alright." She smiled.
"Hang with your sister. You two have fun." Maka smiled, and shut the door.

"Everything alright?" Soul mumbled when Maka was getting in bed.
"Everything's fine. Just Avery being him usual self."
Soul laughed. "You brought Erin in there, didn't you?"
"She came in there! Plus, he'll only stop his behavior when she's around him!"
"Alright, alright." Soul chuckled, kissing Makas lips, and wrapping his arm around her.
"Goodnight."
"Goodnight."

Aaaaand it's done! I love Avery lol. Wouldn't it be fun to make a sequel with him? XD He's such a smart ass, and I love it! Hope you guys enjoyed the story. Sorry, it was pretty short!
