"Akari!" Kakashi whispers.

I roll in the bed and open my eyes.

"What?" I say.

He opens the door and a small pile of gifts fall into the room.

He scrapes them in with his foot then closes the door.

I get up and look at them.

Food, wine, soap, jewelry all kinds of things.

"For you, princess." He says.

I scoff.

"I can't believe it. They really remembered me?" I say.

Kakashi makes a neat stack of the things on the table.

I wrap my arms around him.

He smiles and kisses me.

We sit back down on the bed.

I brush his hair off his face. I trace my finger along his scar.

I feel the raised skin above and below his left eye.

"Did it hurt?" I ask.

He nods.
"It happened so fast, but I knew it got my eye." He says.

He places his calloused hands on the sides of my face.

"You're so cute." He says and pinches my cheek lightly.

"Did you ever think you'd be with a princess?" I ask while laughing.

"Dreams do come true I guess." He says.

"How much farther do we have to travel?" He asks.

"Maybe a days worth?" I reply.

After stuffing our gifts into our bags we leave the small town.

Kakashi holds my hand as we traverse through the thick mud.

"Miss your shoes yet?" I ask.

He just shakes his head and laughs.

I point at a set of small footprints.

We decide to follow them.

As we reach the top of a small hill I clutch to Kakashi.

"Is that it?" He asks.

My feet don't want to move.

"We came all this way..." I say.

He hugs me back and the rain starts to pick up.

"I'm right here with you." He says leaning on me.

I nod.

I lace our fingers and walk towards the building I thought I'd never see again.

As I get closer I feel the energy getting stronger.

Someone is sat on a large rock along the path.

"Kisame?" I ask.

He turns and smiles with his sharp teeth.

"Akari. Home at last." He says.

His eyes turn to Kakashi. Then to our linked hands.

"Ah you must be her dearest." Kisame says.

Kakashi nods.

"I can't go closer, but I'll stay here for today. Someone has taken the liberty of removing all the leadership." He says.

"I see. That's why they needed me." I say.
