Atsushi's pov :

Atsushi didn't go to school the next day . Instead he's sitting in a freeze cold waiting room packed full of sick people at 9 in the morning .

After 35 minutes of waiting a nurse finally called out ' ATSUSHI NAKAJIMA '
Atsushi and dazai follow her to a doctor's office which is unfortunately just as cold as the waiting area .
Atsushi sits on a bed with dazai to his right .

The doctor turns in his chair and looks at a chart .
'so Mr nakajima your here due to mental health yes ?'
Atsushi nodded while looking at the floor .
'is it safe to say you find make this appointments ?'
Atsushi looks over to dazai .
'i did , he wouldn't let me look and I don't want him getting an infection or something '
Dazai holds Atsushi's hand .

The doctor narrows his eyes and looks at dazai .
'what wouldn't he show you exactly , Mr ?'
'Mr Osamu , he's been - self harming and I was worried '

Atsushi plays with the strings of his hoodie as the doctors asks him question .
'Has this been a long term issue ?'
'no '
'how long have you been self harming for ?'
'A month '
'thats good , it's a nasty habit to get into , the longer you leave it the harder it is to get rid of '

The doctor pulls out another chart and starts writing things down .
' where on your body have you self harmed ?'
'my arms '
'may I ask what you used to do the harming Mr nakajima ?'
'just a blade '
'where did you get the blade '
'the bathroom -'
'you used one of my razors ?'

Atsushi looks at dazai and nods , seeing the worry in his eyes .
'do you have the blade on your Mr nakajima ?'
'no , I threw it away '
' okay , earlier Mr Osamu said you wouldn't show him , would it be okay if you showed me so I can clean your arms ?'
Atsushi nodded and removed his jumper .
The doctor cleaned his cuts and wrapped with bandages .
'there not deed so they will heal rather quickly , would it be possible for you to stand outside so I can talk to Mr Osamu ?'
Atsushi nodded and stood outside putting on his jumper .

Dazai's pov :

'Mr Osamu is Atsushi your biological child ?'
'no , I adopted him 3 years ago '
'Did he show any sighs of Beirut unhappy when you adopted him ?'
'no he seemed over the moon to have a home '
Dazai smiles at the though of bringing Atsushi home for the first time .
'im only asking as kids who have been adoption have higher rates of decreased mental health , have you felt with self harm before ?"
"Yes I have , I struggled when I was his age aswell '
'so your aware of the changes your going to have to make at home ?'
Dazai looked at him confused .
'you will have to remove any sharp objects out of the reach of Mr nakajima for the time being to help resist temptation , it is also advised to contact schools to get extra support in theses situations '
'right yes I understand '
'he'll be okay , are you aware of what brought him to this action ?'
'i found out recently he's been being bullied , but that's being sorted out so it should be over now '
'alright I think we're done here , I'll contact you in two weeks for a checkup on how he's doing and if things get any worse do call and wellness take further action '
'okay , thank you '

Dazai goes outside and gets Atsushi so they can go home .
'what did the doctor say ?'
'he was just asking to why you smelt so bad '
Atsushi pushed dazai .
'he did not !'
'he did , he said you need to be takin 3 or more showers a week to cure your stink '
'did he actually ?'
Dazai looked at Atsushi .
' no , let's go home '
